I also have Verizon internet that helps.

I've heard a lot of people have trouble with Dell. Especially customer service.

do you guy recommend having a laptop for us nurses, I mean, I am seriously considering to buy one, cause tons and tons of papers are on my desk and cabinets and if I need a certain thing to review, I have to plough through hell and back. but I am also afraid of digitizing my files cause it may be corrupted and just vanish in thin air without me knowing what happened.

Yeah interesting that they only "let" Americans sell their computers but they use foreign workers to service them.

And they have no idea what is wrong. They just keep reading from a canned scprit.

And the NVIDA GEFORCE 2 GO VIDEO card su*ks..:nono:

No expert here, but I guess you could scan stuff onto your computer then put it on disk as a back up. I'd also have a filing system of somekind to keep my papers. Now, that is if I was really organized :) ... which btw I'm not.

I have had two laptops, a Winbook (try a searh on the internet) and a Toshiba. I have enjoyed them both very much. My Winbook seemed a bit sturdier and I liked the feel of it better; when I talked with Winbook recently about soundcards I was very dissapointed in their options.

I would never purchase a Dell Laptop as I have used them and they seem so fragile. I have seen many error mesages and glitches with them via the laptops at work.

I hope that helps you.

Very helpful thanks. I think I'm going to stick with Toshiba.

I'd like an Apple but they seem awful pricey for what you get and Winbrook I've never heard of but will look into it.

:) Where is Riyadh?

I can't help you with Acer brand. I think Toshiba was cheaper thats why I bought it. I'm happy with it but I still think the Apple would be more user friendly.

Saudi??????????? OMG I had a contract there in 1999 but I didn't go...Wish I had gone then..

Boy would I love to pick your brain.

I love my Toshiba. For travel purposes, I keep an msn.com e-mail acct so that it doesn't change when I move. Just keep discs around to back up stuff occasionally. I bought mine 2 yrs ago on a 12 mo same-as-cash, no interest plan through a computer store that issues their own credit cards. Always nice to draw interest on my own money for those 12 mos, instead of paying for it outright and letting them draw interest on it. Just divvy the total price by 12 mos to figure out your own monthly payment. AND, for heaven's sake, as a banker's daughter, my best advice is NEVER to make a late payment, and never, never, never spend more than you make. NEVER let other ppl make interest on your money. Back to the laptop discussion :nono:
