Hey everyone,I have been offered a job at Banner Good Sam in a pheonix arizona facility, i wanted to know if anyone had problems with call offs. they have it in the contract that they can call of once a week. I figure with the holidays it might be okay. What do you think? Are there pier diem in the area?

Yes they can call you off one shift per week and will do it if the census is low. Don't take it if you can't afford the chance. What does your agency say about that particular hospital? They have placed other travelers there, no? They can give you a better idea of the odds in your particular unit. Yes, per diem is available in Phoenix.

I would stay clear away from this job if I were you. My friend went there and was cancelled once per week, hours werent guarenteed AND about half way thru the contract the hospital cancelled all the travelers contracts. Not a good rep that place.

Check with your agency. I've been with TNAA for 5 years because they pay me for shifts not worked. I think they usually don't pay 1 call off per month. That makes a huge difference. I'm still waiting on a call back from this facility! It's been almost a week, but I keep getting told that I'm under consideration. Boo!

I work at that hospital and we are in desperate need of experienced RN's right now. You could get called off, but if you can afford the chance, it is a great place to work.
thanks for the encouragement. I decided to accept the position I have orientation next mon. the housing they gave me is awesome. I cant wait to meet all the other nurses. Donovasu, do you have a second job or prn job? How hard was the m/s test
