I am applying for WC this Dec/Jan for fall 2014 Rn program. I am going to re-take my teas this month to hopefully improve my score. If I get in I will be driving from Hurst. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a drive.

How many points do you have with the new points system?
I have 38 points. I took my Teas at Weatherford and stopped by Karens office and she figured up my points for me. How many points do you have?

Hi Good Morning!! I am too applying, will be my second time! I have 26 points but am retaking TEAS for more points. How did you get so many points???
There is a new point system that is not on the WC website. It is now based on 48 points. I have taken all my pre-reqs for my BSN so I got most of my points for those extra classes.

naynay69- can you give some specifics on the new system, or can you email it to us?
I am not able to email it. I have a hard copy I got from the nursing admin office at WC. You could email the nursing dept. secretary and ask her to send you one. Her email is listed under Faculty/Staff tab in the nursing section. She usually responds fairly quickly. It looks like the difference is that they give 3 bonus points now for having 15 hrs or more towards your BSN. There are also 2 bonus points for taking Math 1314 or 1342. Then points for Teas and points for pre-reqs according to grade received.
I have 31 before the Teas.
That's good. I didn't do very well on my teas and only got 5 points from it. I may re-take it in January.
Just an fyi, the points to be accepted for Spring 2014 was 29, so you all have a good shot!
I know this because I applied but did not have enough points.
PD82, they actually have a new points system, which is out of 48 instead of 38. This is the first time they're using this system!
Thanks! I emailed KL and she sent me all the info. I will have 29 points according to the new system, unless I can sqeeze in some extra classes by Feb 28!!
