U.S.A. Texas

hello all,

guess i'll get our thread started. i've watched these over the last few semesters, and it's a great way to share information and get to know each other.

i applied earlier this month, and got an e-mail this evening letting me know that i am eligible regarding my prerequisites. i was surprised to get something back so quickly since the deadline is july 1. anyway, that's the first step in the process...a long, long process. :) hopefully, there will be plenty of us on here to keep each other company.

look forward to getting through this process with you.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Hi all, I was goin through the book list again, through the bookstore, by adding all the classes to my list and adding all the books to my cart..just to see the prices for some of those books that are "custom" by the nursing dept. and to get a read of how much they'll be and I noticed that another book was added.. its an ATI Testing book, ISBN: 2818440006425.. all it says is First Semester Traditional >Custom

i am only going to buy the books on the list that they sent us. i think we will get some clarification at orientation and during the first week of classes as to what we will need exactly. to be honest, i am buying earlier editions of the textbooks when i can find them. it may bite me in the butt later, but when i can buy a book for $10 that costs $65 for the newest edition, i will try it. most of them are through amazon. if you're worried about waiting till classes start, most of the books i have ordered through amazon (even used) qualify for prime shipping (2-day). as students, we can sign up for free prime shipping (student account). it adds a little peace of mind for those stressing out about not getting books in time, and also helps save money on shipping (which adds up if you figure at least $4 per book).

Yeah I think I'm gonna wait as well for that one book...I'll be purchasing all my books through Amazon and half.com... and what ever ones that the campus puts together and that I cant find, I'll just purchase those during orientation... Definitley taking advantage of that prime shipping!

Does anyone know if they decided who the 5 "volunteers" for Audie Murphy are gonna be?

Oh, and about the , I wish it would stay $10.00, even after we graduate. :jester:

Hey all, I just read the last 5 pages of posts, but I know I've missed more than that. Holy cow, this has been a busy semester! I just went to campus today to pay for classes and try to get a parking permit and ID. It's ridiculous! You can't get a parking permit until the first Monday in January and you can't get your ID until you've either purchased a parking permit or until orientation. That's so stupid, because it's going to be packed that first week in January! Well I have a Microbiology final tonight and an A&P final tomorrow morning and I am done! Woo Hoo! However, it's not that I'll get to relax, we're driving to MO to visit my in-laws and then my family is coming into town and then it's orientation week. I am, HOWEVER, so excited to nursing school to start! I've been wanting to go forever but after having my two munchkins, I thought I'd never get to go back to school!

finally finished my classes. pulled a B in physiology...not too bad. went ahead and requested my transcript to be mailed when grades post. don't forget to do that y'all. for those of you taking finals this week and next, good luck!

Will y'all be parking in Lot 17 (Zone 5) for Orientation or will y'all pay for the visitor parking instead?

I was told I wasn't going to receive my parkin permit until the first day of the month of my orientation..I ordered it online and received that same message..Well, I got it..Its a dangly thing that hangs on the rear view mirror and its black because of the zone, which is 5. Thats wierd..but I'll take it!

I am not going to worry about parking until January. I do not think classes start until the 10th, so the parking lot, even 17, should be pretty empty during orientation. I am hoping that the space i am on the waiting list for comes open before Jan. 5th so I can park closer to the campus. I will be disappointed if the space I am waiting for does not come open til August of 2012.

I was letting people know who were upset, myself included, that permits were not goin to be issued until the first day of Jan but with luck, I got my permit today..which keep in mind, is one less hassle you'll have to worry the week of orientation ;).. one less thing off the list for me... and you can check you waitlist standing on the police dept. website, by the way..just to give you some idea of where you stand.. since I put myself on the waitlist in November, I've climbed up almost 100 spots but still need 120 to go ...o well..I'm still waiting..LOL
