Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

I do not have any suggestions for either of those classes. I tokk them at TCC...sorry... If I don't get in this app period I will be retaking my stat class at UTA. So let us know how you like your teacher!

I totally agree...It is very nerve racking thats for sure. I was told that would should know in April. Isn't it crap that everyone gives diff information! I hoep we know by the end of this month. I have a vacation planned on May 6th and would love to know before I leave! Congrats on getting into TWU BTW! Atleast you know your set no matter what!

I guess they have not made decisions yet. I asked my advisor to fix a small thing in my app and she emailed back saying she just updated my file...

@jcosmo, there isn't anything that needs to be turned in as far as working at a partnered hospital. My advisor told me that they verify it during the process.

Another super frustrating thing that just happened is I found out that the 2 courses I just re-took do NOT count for Fall application!!!!! The reason it is so frustrating is I told my advisor on 4 different emails what my plan was for this semester and that I was excited to replace the grades I got in Micro and A&P 1 from 15 years ago, blah, blah, blah and how that would make my science GPA for Fall 2012 application a 3.75. Her response was always that that sounded like a great plan, etc. So last week I sent her an email with all my "stats" so she could verify them...(I am partnered, my science GPA is now a 3.75, etc) and that is when she decided to let me know this information. Had I been told that before I would have re-taken the Micro and A&P 1 last Fall and waited to take Patho and Pharm this session since they don't "count" toward the application!!!!! I am beyond angry! So, basically I just have to pray that a 3.0 science GPA and being partnered are enough. I realize that the Spring 2013 start is only a few months later, but still!!!!! I have no more classes I can take so i will have to waste more money on classes I don't need to satisfy financial aid minimums. Grrrrr....

TCC and other colleges have this rule, and it is clearly stated that all courses must be completed by the app deadline in order to count. I have never been able to find that info anywhere and just assumed my advisor would ADVISE me on this fact. There's nothing I can do about it now, so I just need to get over it :)

When did you retake micro and AP I?? If you took them last Fall, they would be counted. How come UTA doesnt count them?

@thomasphan, I took them in Jan/Feb so they don't count. In looking at past posts it seems I was the ONLY student who didn't know this HAHA!!! I feel naive, but oh well!

If I don't get in to Fall then at least these re-do's will count for Spring 2013. I don't care how long I have to wait, I am NOT giving up!

I am getting nervous. It is good to hear that they will be emailing the letters this year. No waiting for the mail :) I applied for both programs but have given up on the ap program because I am not partnered. I am rooting for the traditional program with a 4.0 science and 3.69 overall. I am going to sign up for the intro to nursing class on April 16. I will be coming from Dallas. Anyone else taking it? Carpool? I'm taking patho and pharm right now.

Has anyone taken the pharm final yet? I have been studying the past 4 days and was wondering if there is anything Ishould be paying MORE attention to....

megreen--I'm hoping Pharm is way more organized than it was when I took it last year. Every exam had questions on it that weren't supposed to be there, the server would mark things wrong when they were correct, and don't even get me started on the way the professor "handled" it!!! Anyway, as far as studying, the past exams are only about 10 % of what's on the final. I studied and studied and studied and had a 92 going into the final. I can't remember what I made on it but ended up with an 89.99999 in the class. I was ticked!!! She threw out a ton of questions and my grade would change every few minutes the whole day. It was completely insane and the worst $1000 I've ever spent! I don't see many people complaining about this course this semester so hopefully they got a new professor!!! I know I'm not much help but I don't have a whole lot of advice as far as how to study for the final. Did the professor give any sort of blueprint or guidelines? Did he/she say anything about prior test questions?

No! We have had those problems this semester also :(. Not as exstreme but still happening. All she said was that anything we had covered was fair game except lifespan I am sort of going crazy over here. I still ave not seen you at work either! WTH! Did they give you any specific dates that you will be working?

Does anyone know how long the ap program is and if its consecutive semesters or with summer breaks?
