Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

Hi Divine Nurse! I'm preparing to take the Hesi for December 12th, and I'm applying to UTH for either Jan. 15 or for the following Spring Semester to fit in some extra courses for the graduate program. My goal for this semester is a 4.0 with an overall 98% on the Hesi with an 860 in critical thinking.

Hello! Yes I would love to be apart of a study group for the Hesi A2 exam. I'm hoping to apply to the UT Fall 2014 program as well.

Yes! I applied, took the HESI and now I'm just waiting to hear back...

I took the hesi on the 18th, and am taking anatomy and chemistry this fall. I'm taking micro and physiology in the spring, but am applying for fall 2014. I'm going to wait until the semester is over to finish my application though. I'm nervous and excited :)

HI EVERYONE!

I'm also applying for Fall 2014 but I hope I can start the "accelerated" program in the summer. I applied and paid my app fee and requested all my transcripts to be sent over. I take my HESI Dec. 27th, I'm in the midst of preparing for that while dealing with microbiology and online history. I was concerned about applying already without having my transcripts and hesi scores on file, but after reading spring 2014 forums I now know that is acceptable. I just wish I would have turned in my transcripts earlier for possible evaluations. I'm taking chemistry 1405 over winter break but the class will be done Jan 10th. I have to call this week and ask SON if they will accept late transcripts. Does anyone know?

I'm not sure when the summer deadline is, but I think as long as you have all of the pre-reqs completed by the first day of the semester you are good. I know that is how it works for the fall start. Good luck!

@stephb

I called UT yesterday and asked if my transcript with chemistry will be accepted and count toward my gpa if it is a couple days past the deadline. The lady I talked to said "no". So if my chem teacher post the grades right away I will hand deliver it my self before the 15th if not my gpa will not be as high as it could be. I was also confused about the pre reqs requirements and was told by the registrar office that they will count the highest grade so I'm happy to know that. I also asked what gpa's count toward admission and I was told "overal", "science" and "pre-req". I was not aware that the overal was looked at I thought it was just the science and pre-reqs.

Hi everyone! Good luck to everyone applying! Just a few things I wanted to point out...if you are completing a class in which the transcript won't be sent until after deadline they still will see the grade. You will be getting transcript evaluations throughout the process of applying. For me I got 4 total. Every time I sent them something I would call a week later and double check they received it and then a week later usually I found a transcript eval in my mailbox. That being said I took chem over the summer and figured "oh good the transcript will be sent after the application deadline so if I make a B in the class it won't count when they look at my science GPA." But they do. I sent my transcript in with my chem grade which turned out to be a B, and I got an eval back in September that had all of my classes including chem. Then in October I received my acceptance, so I know for a fact they saw everything sent in before acceptances starting going out. So even if you're stuff is a little late (as long as you have 8 science hours done, and 40 total done and Hesi done you're fine) they will still see all of it before making decisions. Also, I would not send in your application until you've taken your hesi and put the scores on there. I waited and filled out my application and waited and waited until the day I took my hesi I then added my scores to the app and sent it in. They will still verify your scores that are sent in from elsevier, but I wouldn't send it with those blanks empty.

I already filled out my app.I take my HESI Dec.27th kinf of close to Jan 15th when the application is due so I wanted to get some stuff out the way. Righy now my HESI scores and two transvripts out of three is pemding. Is that a disadvantage for me?

So sorry for the typos!!

No it shouldn't be. Just send everything in on time and double check everything is my advice!
