TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

I am 3rd on the list and havent gotten anything! So I am assuming they will wait until after November 7th at 5pm (the deadline to reply for the first batch).

Yes they are waiting until after the 7th for any other moves I was told. And what was posted on here by one of the administration as well. They could POSSIBLY go down the list from there :D good luck to you Dana. I'm 11th on th list! I hope we're both lucky

In the midst of all the excitement for those who have been accepted (congratulations!), I just wanted to make this post for those who did not make it in.

YOU GUYS ARE BRILLIANT PEOPLE! Don't let any "rejection" tell you otherwise. If you truly think nursing is your calling, you'll find a way to get there, even if it isn't through TWU. I've spoken to so many bright hopefuls who are absolutely heartbroken and have worked so hard to try to get into the program. I've heard about how competitive the applicant pool was... Heck, if I was applying this semester, I probably wouldn't have made it in either. Anyway, I hope the remainder of you guys use this as motivation to work even harder towards your goal. Even if it isn't through TWU, nursing is an extremely rewarding career so keep on pushing everyone! Don't give up!

To those who did make it in, the next couple of years will be long and hard, but it will be very rewarding. Nothing beats the feeling of having your patients thank you for making their day brighter or seeing them get better and go home. Congratulations on the beginning of the rest of your lives! And welcome to nursing school :)

So I guess they send the letter both ways. I received the email and also the mail...

Been following for a very long time now. I am currently 6th on the list. 3.3 Gpa, 80.7 teas, and 4 A's first pass. They are sending out emails and letters I assume on wednesday from what I gathered on the phone today. Wednesdays batch of emails have another week to reply to that. Then after that, the non accepted letters will go out. Good luck to those close on the list. 105 twu dallas places, i dont forsee that many saying no.

Hi there! I just joined the forum. I applied for the spring program, too and haven't received an email. I was informed on the phone today by TWU that if I haven't received an email by now that it means I didn't get in. Can anyone tell me where I can find the list of applicants? I have seen everyone talking about it but can't seem to find it.

thanks!

You would have to call and ask where you are on the list in terms of number. They don't post the chosen applicants names.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I didn't get in but I just want to know where I stand on the list.

Nanerz13, The TWU bump isnt a "true" gpa bump. It acts as a preference. It's a "yes" or "no" on their formula sheet. Your gpa stays as it is. It basically will put you above someone who has the same stats as you but from a different school. TWU gives their students who have completed 32 hrs (1st degree seeking) or 16 hrs (post-bac) at the denton campus preference over a student from another college or university. Hope that helps! :)

I didn't ask a question about the TWU bump...

Unless your referring to me asking that other student if they included the TWU bump in their posted GPA or not? :)

I get it. I was merely asking if their GPA they posted included the bump or not. So like if they posted 3.5 if I needed to add .2 to it or not. That is all.

A lot of people include their "bump" when they post their GPA if in fact they qualify for said "bump".
