TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

U.S.A. Texas

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

I have a question about the TEAS that I was curious if anyone could shed any light on for me. I took the TEAS in December, and did very well on it. Now I've just gotten my acceptance to the university and am getting ready to apply for the Nursing school, but the information I've found on the TWU website says that they'll only accept result from tests taken at PSI testing centers. My current university, where I took the test, is not listed on PSI's website. Does this really mean I have to take it again?

I'm mostly asking because it's my understanding that PSI centers only offer one form of the test, the one I've already taken, and if the test hasn't changed since December I don't think I'll be allowed to take it again.

hi all, i took teas v for UTMB and made 84, but TWU says they're not accepting it. that it has to be through a PSI center. pls can anyone tell me what courses stand for women multicultural studies. Thanks

You can go to ATI website and ask your transcript to be sent to TWU. It cost $25. In other words, it doesn't have to be a PSI site where you take your test. I did this way and TWU has received my score.

I'm registered for Patho in Dallas! I look forward to meeting you and anyone else taking it there! I'm moving from Killeen to Dallas at the beginning of August, so it will be nice to "know" a few people before I get there. :)

As for everybody asking about the TEAS test I called and talked to three of the advisers yesterday and they told me that as long as it was the TEAS V (version 5) that it didn't matter where you took it. If you took it through ATI you will have to log into their website and order a transcript to be sent to TWU. Your TEAS transcript will not show up in the pioneer portal, if you want to check on the status you will have to call them to find out. I called Cheryl Maddux and she was able to tell me.

They were using PSI testing sites because they were supposed to be more secure in their testing procedures, but TWU has had some problems with the PSI centers.

Hello all!

I haven't posted in a while because I have been busy taking a summer chemistry class to boost my GPA. :) So this will be my 3rd and HOPEFULLY last time applying to TWU. My old GPA was a 3.73 I believe and I had a 72 on my TEAS, and I did not get in. My new GPA is 3.84 and I will be taking the TEAS again because I was told that getting above an 80 is competitive, unless your GPA is a darn 4.0 which mines isn't. SO here I go again. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask because I have been through this quite a few times. I wish everyone the best of luck guys!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Hope you good luck this time!

It's just your prereq GPA right? I have a previous degree and I do NOT want them to use that GPA. ugh! :nono:

No I believe not. It doesn't have to be taken at PSI. If you like I can give you Heathers email, who is the nursing advisor at Dallas. She can confirm that for you.

pls i will like her email
