U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey guys! I don't know what happened to the last thread but I wanted to create a new one! Anyone out there applying for Fall 2012 to the Houston campus? I'm super excited and have all my stuff taken care of minus my Fall 2011 transcripts! I wish everyone the best of luck and hope we all get in!

Hey guys! I've been following these posts for a while and just now decided to join in. (I think that a lot of people say that.) So, my question is where did you see that there's an info session this Saturday? And at what time does it start? Thanks for your help and here's to us all getting in!!:D

Krique39,

Welcome! I'm so glad you joined and are sharing in the journey! There is a link for open houses on the TWU website. Bachelor of Science (BS) - TWU College of Nursing - Texas Woman's University Then click on Visit TWU on the right then there will be a link for Open House, Houston Center! The information will be there. The online registration is closed but they welcome walk-ins! It begins at 8 am and then runs till around noon if you choose to stay that long. There will also be an itinerary online that will let you know what they will be doing. I have been to one before and I highly recommend going if you can! I hope this was helpful and wish you the best of luck!

Thanks! I hope that I can make it!

hey guys =)

i just recently applied to TWU houston.. and im really freaked out!!! my gpa is only 3.6 and i scored a 79 on the TEAS.. and I only have 1 first attempt A for my pre nursing courses. if you guys dont mind.. how are your numbers like? i am screwed if the first attempts A's are heavily weighed. sigh.. anywho, best of luck to everyone!!

p.s. this wait is like an annoying itch i cant scratch (and we have to wait a good month or so?) bleeeh!!!

mssweeney,

Keep your head up! Your grades and TEAS score are not bad at all! I think you have a great shot at getting in! There have been numbers all over the place for people getting accepted so don't lose hope! You can always refer back to the Spring 2012 forum and look at the numbers that were accepted for that class: plus there is great information there on other things too! The wait is tough for all of us but at least we can come here and vent our frustrations! Best of luck to you!

Science: 4.0

Pre-req: 3.885

TEAS: 84.7

MssweenyI think you still have a good chance! But I hope everybody who joins the thread will post their scores just so we all have somewhat of an idea where we stand. GPA: 3.82TEAS: 83.3Out of micro, stats, and both A&p's, only one A on FIRST attempt.

Hey guys I went to the Houston open house this morning and just wanted to share the information. They said since the deadline just passed they do not have a complete count on how many people applied. However they said they expected anywhere from 600-1000.

There are 90 slots for the Fall 2012 semester.

All of the nursing core courses had to be completed by the application deadline to be considered. (This includes Stats and Life/Development Pysch.)

If you are core complete at your present institution you are exempt from taking Women's Multicultural Studies and the Quantitative Literacy course.

College Algebra does not satisfy the Quantitative Literacy requirement.

A lot of the scholarships have deadlines in mid-March. Even though we will not know if we are accepted at that point we still need to apply. This will cover Fall 2012, Spring 2013, and Summer 2013. We can apply through Pioneer Portal. Also once we are accepted there will be nursing departmental scholarships that can be applied for we just have to wait until we are for sure accepted into the nursing program for these particular ones.

WHEN we are accepted we will be able to take Pathophysiology this summer. (Highly recommended)

The seniors about to graduate right now number 85 out of 90. :)

100% of the last group that took NCLEX passed.

We should be notified of acceptance/denial in late March or early April.

That's all I can think of for now! If you guys have any questions on anything please ask! Or if anyone else was there feel free to add anything I left out! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ktdidit, I saw you at open house! I was the blonde sitting right behind you lol but when I finally realized it was you, I didn't have a chance to say hi. I was going to just send you a message but it won't let me because I am a still a new member.

Ahh sorry we didn't have a chance to meet! It would have been nice to put a face with a name! Was it you I kept handing the extra papers too? lol I figured there were others there from on here but I had no clue who they were! Did you stay for the tour?

Yeah I think you handed them to me at least once lol i was behind you and a little bit to the right. maybe I will meet you in pathophysiology this summer :) and no, I didn't stay for the tour, I should have!

Haha that is histerical! I am super excited about the opportunity for patho in the summer and taking a little steam off of the Fall semester. I've heard it can be really time consuming and that it's the number one dropped course for the first semester. Now all we have to do is get in!

Oh wow! Yeah just the name of the class sounds intimidating!
