I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!

If you get a pair of Danskos make sure and try to break them in really well, before wearing them on the floor... I've heard many nurses talk about that and how painful it is to try and break them in while in clinicals. I'm older and unfortunately have problem feet, so I have 2 pairs of shoes I alternate. Some Saucony walking shoes and Alegria brand ones. They began making shoes primarily for nurses and are super comfortable! They have fabulous colors, so too bad we have to wear the boring old white ones :p

Thanks for the heads up. My aunt gave me a pair that's shiny black...prism black I think is what it's called...totally wish I could wear them!

Are you guys hanging on to all of your paperwork until orientation or have you already turned it in? Also do they want our actual blue card or just a copy?

I'm hanging on to mine until Thursday. Make sure you make copies and bring the originals. I believe they take up the copies but need to verify you have the originals too. Regarding the blue card, they want to see the original but copies will be taken up at orientation.

Thanks! It was good! Lots of information, which I've been dying for, and they're opening registration tomorrow, so that'll all be done with! Wasn't quite expecting to leave orientation with homework, but oh well. I'm excited to get going! Just gotta get through summer school first.

May 30th will be here before you know it!

Cy-Fair doesn't have orientation until Aug. 9th :( wayyy too long of a wait.

I feel kinda crazy right now, i left orientation at 6pm, drove home, ordered pizza, and logged online to buy all my books & my stethoscope. My friend gave me her shoes that she wore only one day... and I'm going to turn in all my paper work tomorrow, and register for my classes, and then all I have to do now is READ, READ, and READ some more due to the 30 chapters of homework we recieved today :) I'm leaving for FL. on May 31st and after spending a week there, and then I'll be relaxed and ready to go in July. I don't know about anyone else, but I have so much going on this summer that I've already planned all this out and it worked perfectly (I'm on cloud nine)

Whew girl, you are ready to GO! Way to get everything done so you can relax! I'm going to dig through my MIL's books and see if I can use any of them, and then i guess it's time to start spending money! Hubby is going to be thrilled lol.
