i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

I bought the Littman Cardiology III also and I love it. I ordered mine from allheart.com.

Specializes in Nephrology.

I guess mine is a cheap little one from the bookstore. I should get one like everyone else has.....what were the prices on them? Our SNA wasn't selling any....we have a meeting today so maybe they will have them there or at least some answers.

Christy, are you going to that meeting today??

There will be all kinds of different stethoscopes that people have. Many people do not spend the money on an expensive one for nursing school because they may "walk off". Then when they graduate, they pamper themselves with a high dollar stethoscope.

So, if you can hear out of yours well enough, I wouldn't worry about it...unless you just want to. The Littman Cardiology III's are $122 from AllHeart.com.

Also, it is a good idea to have a second stethoscope in your vehicle. This way, if one walks away, you will have a replacement right there. (You can't go home to get another one!)

Ok, I'll stop carrying on like I've been there, done that. lol I'm just repeating what I've seen on this site over and over. :)

I am going to try to go, but I don't know if I can get away in time from work. It's at 12:30 p.m. right?

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

We discussed the walking off in another thread - honestly it just doesn't happen - unless ya buy a cheap one!

You tend to keep very close tabs on a more expensive one. I have had the same cardiology II for 17 years! Havn't even misplaced it once!

I've never had one get lost or stolen either, but apparently some people have. I still have the original stethoscope I bought for medical assisting school back in 1995, and my second one I purchased as well. (I plan on getting the Littman Cardiology III for nursing school. ....I let my lil' one play with the old ones.) :p

Hey Christy!

To my understanding someone will be registering us and then we just go and pay? I just want to make sure....

Sorry, I just remembered your question. That is my understanding also. In my notes, I have Ms. Farley stating she'll register us and we can check on-line November 28th after 3:00 p.m. for our schedule. At that time, we can pay on-line or in person on campus.

Thank you Christy! That is what I had written down but I just wanted to make sure I wrote it down correctly. :)

Hey y'all. I just got back from the SNA meeting. It was a nice meeting. We didn't really discuss SNA stuff. The Army recruiting was there telling us about being a nurse in the army. The benefits seemed awesome but I am sure there are plenty of catches.

I got to meet my clinical instructor and she was super sweet. She asked me why I chose her and I said it was because I had heard good things about her and she said, "That's the answer I was looking for!" haha she was funny too. She was an army reserve nurse and she highly recommended it so I thought I would at least look into it.

I'm sorry I didn't get to see anyone from here there. I missed you guys!! :crying2:

We also had a meeting today, but I didn't go. I have to review some A&P 2. chapters for a test tomorrow.

What about your pink stethoscope? Did you ask about it?

Wouldn't you know it??? I forgot to ask about that! I got all wrapped up in meeting my clinical instructor and trying not to look like a doofus that I completely forgot to ask that!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH! :banghead:
