DFW GN/RN June 2011 Internships

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I've seen threads discussing this topic so I'm hoping to combine all of the discussions and include everyone.

Who else is applying to June GN/RN internships is the Dallas and Fort Worth area? Where have you applied and what feedback have you received? Does anyone who applied to previously posted internships and got accepted or rejected have any advice for us?

Personally I'm a BSN Dec 2010 grad with a new TX RN license and I've applied to any openings I could find in the ED and women & infant services as well as a few random telemetry and critical care spots. I have had 1 phone interview and I have a phone interview and in-person interview scheduled for next week. Im keeping my fingers crossed that something will go well!!!

Good luck to all of us new grads in this tough job market!! :redpinkhe

Also, has anyone gotten a call back for the Medical City Dallas GN Internships? I know the position is still on their website. Just wondering if I need to be more aggressive.

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.
really? i interviewed last week as well and i called and left a message. how do you send a private message through this thing? i'm new here. i didn't get a call back from my message. i guess i have to wait it out until next week. that's odd they went ahead and told you even though final decisions are next week...

you will be able to send private messages after you have 15 posts.

Specializes in Surgical, Neurological.

Good luck to everyone that had interviews. I wish everyone the best of luck on finding a job. If anyone needs the recruiters name and numbers at Parkland, just let me know by private message. OXB7393, you can usually call and talk to someone in HR and they can get you the information you need at Children's.

Specializes in NICU.

Has anyone gotten a interview yet with Children's?? I applied for the position last week and didn't know if I really had a chance to get a spot. I just got my transcript from the school and will be mailing that off today

Has anyone applied to Parkland's L&D Residency beginning in June? Has anyone heard anything yet? I'm stressing out waiting!

I hope you hear good news soon if you haven't already! I got a phone call from the recruiter at 7pm a few nights ago saying I wasn't chosen for the position so take comfort in knowing they are working down a list calling people and its defiantly good news if you haven't received a rejection yet! Good luck!!:D

Specializes in APRN, FNP-C, Newborn nursery.

I read on the GN/RN internship for medical city is BSN only.

Baylor has all of their recruiter emails listed online. go to their career section, then nursing, then specialties and each specialty has the recruiter email direct link on the page.

i've heard that all of children's positions are spoken for except for Hem/Onc. They are hiring i think 2 positions. most everything else is internal.

Methodist dallas has GN internship posted for med surg and neuro icu from what i saw from a few days ago.

Texoma medical center is another option. submit you app online for graduate nurse and you should get an email about a interview. they are being held on may 10 from 930-5. it's just a giant job fair style interview/screening for GN positions.

Has anyone heard any news from Parkland OR residency that is starting in June? I applied about 3 weeks ago but I see that the residency has been posted since February.

I interviewed for it two weeks ago, they havent gotten back to me, so took a position elsewhere.

Specializes in NICU.

Thanks so much JM2011 I just applied there.

Has anyone heard anything from Medical City yet??

Med city shows that it is BSN only. I've heard that if you have applied for MCP, if you take your resume up there to the position you've applied for the will try to interview you. two people I know got jobs that way.

Also, I can't reply to your message, but it took me a long time to get a response, but my other friends got responses right away after I told them to apply when I got my notice.

You should just go anway it's Tuesday from 930-5 at the texoma medical center. Just come prepared to interview with extra copies of resumes, transcripts, rec letters immunizations, etc. whatever will look good in your portfolio.

hope this helps!

Specializes in Labor and Delivery.

I accepted a job offer at JPS today for OB Triage. I am so excited and still dont belive this is real. I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to work in the area that was my #1 choice.

@Princess_wannabe, have you heard from Texoma? I can get you the email to the recruiter if you want. :)
