I know the job market is thin in the area right now but, I'm hoping some of you can help. I'll graduate with my ADN in December 2010 and trying to get a head start on the job hunt. I want to get an idea of the starting pay in the Knoxville hospitals esp. UT Med Center at this time. I would greatly appreciate your input. :nurse:

My understanding is about $18 an hour plus shift diff. which is anywhere from 3-4 for nights and weekends.

$4 nights; $3 weekends (Fri/Sat nights only, or Sat/Sun days); good place to work, mostly well staffed, supportive; excellent benefits inc 5% into retirement with no employee contribution required.

Thank you both for the info. I had no clue what a new grad was worth. Just don't want to sell myself short or too high on any job interviews. Thanks again!

So if you work weekend nights do you get BOTH shift diffs...so $7 total if it's 4 nights/ 3 weekend? Just wondering, since with my son and husband's schedules I think I'll be working weekend nights for a few years!

All the hospitals in Knoxville talk to each other EXTENSIVELY. I'm pretty sure that they have all agreed to about the same pay scale too. Pay is one of the lowest in the country.
