Who's taken the teas v?

And what did you think? I took it last week and feel like I was prepared for the Math and Reading portions by using the study guide but I really struggled with the Science portion. For me it was a lot of Chemistry and it's been a while since I've taken that course. I met the minimum requirements in each category for my program but it's the first year they're using the TEAS V (Last year they used the NET) so I'm not really sure what a competitive score is yet. Anyway I know there are different entrance tests and versions of the TEAS everyone is taking so I was just wondering how people felt about version V.

I liked how I scored 90 percent on math, 87 on Reading comprehension, 80 on English, and a 16 percent on Science.

Took the TEAS V this morning, first time, got a 90. It was not that bad.

I need at least a 90 to lock in an acceptance next year. I can get by with an 85 and above but prefer not too.

How did you study?

Yeah I still have some basic science knowledge pertaining to systems in our body which account for the only ones I had right. The ones I screwed up on were chemistry, physics and scientific reasoning which covered like most of the science portion of my test. But then again it was my fault, I thought I knew alot. studied only one day and made fun of those who studied for weeks because they were slow learners. Im now taking this as a lesson and will learn not to repeat this again once school starts.

Aw yea... I imagine, it sounds so easy,

I have talked to plenty of people who say its the hardest thing ever!

Then I talked people say its so easy, that it's an insult to their intelligence.

SO I guess, I won't know until I get there.

Thank God I have those classes under my belt (on accident, I was an engineering major before)

whew....I'll still study though, I am taking it this november so I have plenty of time, and I will be talking a o-chem class and a college alegbra class to freshen up my skills (they are pre reqs as well)

I took the TEAS V for the first time today and I scored a 56%. Not good. I did awful in the Science section and I have been out of high school for 15 years. Does anyone know when I retake it if I scored higher the first time let's say in Math and Reading will they take them scores?

Every school is different you need to check with the schools you are applying to. I know that my school will take the best overall score... no matter how many times you take it. But they are all different. Good luck

Karen - my school let me pick the first time or second time, but it was the whole test score, not parts of each.

I did not have food webs on mine. I had naming carbons, cellular respiration, TONSSSS of chemistry, logic (if a scale is broken, how can you determine the weight of objects)....etc.

I took the TEAS V on 2/1/2011 for the first time. I scored 92% (reading 93%, math 97%, science 85%, language 93%) and was in the 99th percentile for my program and nationally. I did not study for it. I took the HESI about two months before the TEAS V and used both the Barron's and the Kaplan study guides. I thought the Kaplan guide was a little bit better than the Barron's. IMHO, the best preparation is to do well in your prerequisite classes.

Yes, I had the tennis ball question :p The math is cake, they give you all of the conversions. Waste to memorize them. If anything, memorize the rules in the English section. They seem simple but I had forgotten a lot of them.
