Hi all. I just (two days ago) finished sending off the last few pieces of my applications to Baylor, UTH, Wesleyan, and TCU. Now I'm doing the miserable waiting thing so I thought it'd be nice to hear from other people that are in the same boat. We could keep each other up to date on interview invites and acceptances and such. I'm pretty sure a lot of us have our hands full with Ike at the moment, but whenever anyone has some free time, I'd love to hear how my future classmates (being incredibly optimistic here) are doing. Good luck all.

I'm working on my apps for TCU, TWU and UNF now and just turned in an app to UAB. Really hoping to get in somewhere! Good luck!

I'm turning in my apps to Baylor and TCU this week. Keeping my fingers crossed! Let me know if you hear anything.

I am about to complete my application to Baylor.

Did anyone notice the online Baylor app seems to be quite "old"

The GRE portion asks you for a three part GRE score (GRE's haven't been scored on 3 parts since about 2001), and there is no room to put your written score (or whatever they call the essay).

I can't recall what else seemed outdated but there were a few things...

to those who applied to other schools, are all the online app's as lengthly as Baylors?

I filled out two other online apps and Baylor's was the longest. Mostly because they wanted you to fill out your academic record. I don't get that since we are sending in transcripts. Oh well. Good luck everyone!

It did seem a little old, but as for the GRE the third analytic score was the spot for your writing score. That's actually what they call it on the score report ETS sends you. And I agree with lovegas, it's a pain to enter all the scores by hand when we send transcripts but I'll bet their system doesn't import classes from transcripts into the correct categories and I'm sure they don't want to pay someone to do data entry for it. So our grunt work begins early. Hopefully it's just the beginning. :p

Do the instructions say to do it like that? (put in your essay on the analytical?).

I'm sure it does not matter one way or the other, but I think this is actually a VERY old data entry for the GRE. There is a column to enter your % for that third category (analytical). This harkens back to 2001 and earlier when there were three scored sections and you could get a max score of 2400 (now its 1600). On each section you were scored 0-800 and got a percentile rank for each one. I know because at first I entered my old score, then tried to add my new one and it wouldn't let me. I had to delete the old one and replace it with the new one.

I think we hear about interviews after the deadline...does anyone know if this is correct?

I promise. Take a look at your ETS score report and you'll see the third (i.e. writing) score listed as the analytical (writing) score with an accompanying percentage. I've only taken the GRE once in May of 2008 and I entered my scores with no problem.

That aside, I really hope we don't have to wait until December to find out if we get interviews... But I think you may be right. Three more months. We'll survive. Right?

I also did not have a problem putting in my analytical score and percentile ranking.

I too will be sending in my applications this coming week to TWU, UNCG and Westminster in my home state. I would really like to get into one of the first two, buy I'll take my third choice as a backup. I would have tried TCU but I don't have my CCRN yet and I wont have time to take the test and get the results back before the end of Oct. Hope see some of you guys in school.

[ i would have tried tcu but i don't have my ccrn yet and i wont have time to take the test and get the results back .............

not true. you get your score the same day that you test. you'll get a printout of your scores after you test, and as a little bonus, each category is broken down and individually scored. this little piece of paper (with your individual and overall scores) is what tcu wants to see. the fact that you passed is not as important as how well you did in each system. :smokin:

so, not that much time left, but you do have time to take the ccrn. interviews aren't until 1st week in january. you could apply and state that you will test in december and they could give you a contingency interview.
