South University FNP MSN program???

Nursing Students NP Students

So did anyone or is anyone currently in the FNP or Adult NP online program at this time? I spoke to an admissions rep and was really impressed. The set up is nice with one course at a time, although was told you can talk to your advisor and sometimes layer your courses here and there as well (like an 11wk course with one 5.5 wk course) which I'd prefer to do to get done faster...since I did my ASN at Excelsior and am finishing my BSN I'm well used to online format courses and have my time down to a science. I was planning on beginning my application process now, so that in December we submit everything with the potential to start the first week of Feb 2014...anyone else??? Any thoughts???

I am glad you are finding the program at South to your liking. However, my story is far from "atypical". The school is still under investigation for wrongful practices and the instructors I had were nasty (Maze and Kostrweski). Oh well, I suppose for all the students that are satisfied, there are probably just as many that are dissatisfied and left. How else to explain the 62% attrition rate? Best wishes to you.

Is everyone on here in online programs? Are any of you in an on ground program? Can anyone say anything about the program in Columbia SC?

Is this program completely online ? I am currently Enrolled at walden in my 5th quarter and would like to move back to Florida .I love the program but I can't live in Florida and complete it.

Hi Nicshacat03,

I don't completely understand your question. You are pretty far "in" the program by the 5th quarter aren't you. Transferring at this point might be difficult, unless you found out otherwise. Are you in an online master's program already? Oh and by the way, I left South's program and enrolled into Herzing's program. Good luck!

I have two more classes before clinicals begins . I want to move back to florida but FL doesn't recognize walden university at this time. I am considering transferring to a school that allows me to complete the program while in florida

Nishacat03, yes, South's program is completely online. You do have to arrange your clinical sites and preceptors. There are not campus hours required...the school will send a representative to your clinical site for your evaluation. You will need to contact them to see about transferring credits as I don't know anything there. Good luck.

Hi lhflanurse... How is the program going for you? I am currently in the program as well. Are you almost done?

Mom_RN, I will be graduating in December. On the final stretch...practicums.

lhflanurse, I wanted to thank you again for all information you provided when I was trying to decide where to go for my masters. 1st class completed with an A+, ready Monday to go for round 2. It wasn't easy by far but doable. I truly hate writing and can't wait to get to the home stretch like you!! South should hire you as an admission counselor.
