I couldn't study anymore so I rescheduled my AANP exam for 3 weeks ahead of my planned date. I just took my exam two days ago and failed. I have spent five months studying, every day and every night. The test was rediculous! I did the Fitzgerald live review, Leik intense review book, Exam Edge, endless exam questions online and books. I felt prepared except in a couple of areas (immunizations and antibiotics). The questions on the test were NOTHING like in the books. I passed all my predictor exams (one I got a 59%). Even getting an 88% on the PSI exam. My scores were increasing for every exam I took. My email address is [email protected] if anyone has ideas or if you would like to do a study session. I don't know how we would go about doing that online, but I am willing to do anything at this point!!!

I failed ANCC (adult-gero acute care) in late March. I felt like 15-20% of the test was foreign to me. I did study and I did take several of the Barkley practice exams and did ok on those but still failed.

It really crushed me for quite some time but I am currently planning to take a live Barkley review in a few weeks.

It also seems to me that there is a lot more study content and material for family and primary care NP exams.

I'm trying not to stress too much but I do have to get back at it very soon and retake that test!!

Good luck!!

I failed the AANP adult gero primary care NP this month. The test was very hard. I did the live Bakley review it did not help. Right now I don't know which one to do because it is so confusing? Advice please!

We are in the same boat, I just took AANP exam (Adult gero primary care NP) and failed. Please if you find someone for study session add me to that group. Thanks!

I took the aanp exam today and failed it also.. I have studied the Leik book, did questions, and took the live review by Amelie Hollier. I am lost as to what to do at this point. Any suggestions??

I am sorry to hear that. I understand how you feel. Take a break this week and start studying again next week. I feel like trying ANCC for my next exam. We have to keep fighting, praying and go back again. A NP who failed the test 2 times suggested to hire a tutor for test taking strategies this way we can be prepared for whatever test we are taking. I have been looking for one in my area unable to find one yet.

I felt exactly the same way. But we are not going to stop we have completed the NP program, we just have to study wisely. I advise you to look for paid tutoring for tests strategies skills. I did take a live Barkley course, exam edge, Leik,. Right now I am doing some quizlets until I can find a great tutor and will take another review.

I just to chime in. While I am still in my program and am getting closer to the end I have a question for the students that are failing these exams. I honestly don't understand how the material can be "foreign". Or unlike all other test banks. The primary cert is founded on only so many topics that your program should have went over. What exact topic is coming up that is difficult. I've been dumbfounded when I've read some posts that are saying the student learned more studying for boards in 2 months than all of school. How is that possible?

I'm thinking the same thing. I don't plan on taking this exam for some time but I am confused reading this because NP programs are supposed to help prepare you, aren't they?

Queen b 2...How are you doing? What is your email address?

Jeana-You WOULD THINK your program is supposed to help students prepare them for the boards. My school was TERRIBLE!!! Here I am 6 months after graduation still trying to pass boards. I just bought the APEA MyQbank questions. Hoping that will help :)

What school did you go to, RM?
