FNP Preceptor needed

Nursing Students NP Students

Hello everyone. I had to have called at least 50 different physicians offices looking for a physician or NP that would be my preceptor. I have found a preceptor for 2 of my adult rotations, but need 3 more. If anyone can help me out in locating a preceptor for my clinical rotations I sure would appreciate it.

I am close to Columbia, SC but am willing to travel to my clinical site as needed. I still need 1 precptor for a adult/geriatrics, 1 for pediatrics, and 1 for OBGYN.

Thank you for your help

Found them. :)

Hi MonTif,

Congrats on being in an FNP program and good luck with your clinicals.

I hope to start an MSN/FNP program next year. I live in N.C. I was wondering which school/program you are attending?

I am currently in the online RN to BSN completion program at Western Carolina U. I already have a B.A. in Psychology and a then went back to school and got an A.D.N. If I had it to do over again I think I would have done one of the ABSN programs for my RN instead af the ADN...oh well, hindsight is 20/20, etc.

Western Carolina has an RN to MSN bridge that I will apply to next semester and then I can use 9 hours of the MSN program to count as electives toward completing the BSN. I will have to complete the BSN before I can be formally admitted to the MSN program...but they will allow me to take up to 9 hours of graduate credit while I complete the BSN.

I have also applied to Duke's MSN program. They are one of the few schools I found that doesn't require a BSN if you are an RN with a bachelor's degree in another (non-nursing) field. From what I have heard, finding preceptors can be challenging. Are you going to have to travel very far for your clinicals?

Hello,

I am looking for preceptor as well, and live in Lexington, SC. Can you provide the precptors you found, maybe they will be willing to precept me starting in the Fall, 2013

Thank you,

Tracy

I'm also in the Columbia area and looking for preceptors. Do you mind providing the names of preceptors you found? And perhaps ones to avoid asking...

Thank you!

this would be great. i hope that the information is posted. did anybody try MUSC?

I also had a difficult time finding a preceptor for my FNP clinicals, I was able to use the ENP network online and it helped a bunch.

In the Columbia, SC area Palmetto Health really helped me out. Ask for the Director of Ambulatory Patient Care Services. You will need to still find your own preceptors but they will give you resources. If you are with South University they already have an affiliation agreement with them. Eau Claire is another organization that may be able to help you out in this area, but you would need to contact them early. They will actually find the preceptor for you, but you may need to travel a bit. Finding an OB/GYN and Pediatric preceptor was my hardest challenge. Good luck!

Looking for pediatric clinical site. Anyone know a place with an affiliation agreement with Kaplan University. I live in Texas and am willing to travel for primary care setting.

I am an FNP Kaplan student, my precept backed out due to being purchased by the magnet hospital. I am a 45 year old single mother about to be dropped from the program due to the loss of my PB rotation. I work for two different private physician office. I have left no stone unturned. I am will to drive anywhere . I live in Clemson, SC. I am approx 45 minutes from Greenville. The magnet hospitals require you are an employee. I have a 3.9 GPA and excellent references. Can anyone assist? I applied to match me which is 1200. 00 per rotation. I applied through the Upstate NP organization. I have volunteered in any way possible. I am BA. , BSN, ACLS, PALS, BLSD, ANA, AACE.
