Anyone like/use Epocrates or other smartphone software?

I have a Droid 2 and I'm starting my NP clinicals. Epocrates looks good, and I'm thinking of buying the full suite. Anyone like it, use it, etc? Any other suggestions for software? Thanks!

Love, love, love epocrates! I used it constantly when in clinicals. Also really like Medscape; both of these are available on your PC as well as Droid so if you're writing papers or something at home you can look at the bigger screen. Up-to-Date is wonderful but I'm about to lose my free access to that via the university library.

For play time I like an app called Prognosis - not completely realistic, but lots of fun!

Please just be aware that ePocrates as with any reference is not full proof. Best bet - always check with two references.

I tried Epocrates as well as a few other platforms. Ultimately my favorite is PEPID. I did a free trial for a few of their products and ended up going with their primary care suite. Although, I really enjoyed the clinical companion too.

Thanks to all who replied. My preceptor also recommended Epocrates, but she suggested I buy the upgraded version. I'm going to download the freebie today and see how I like it. She also said Lexicomp is good, but I don't know anyone who uses it. My preceptor takes her smartphone into exam rooms and is always looking things up (esp. drug doses) on it. She said her patients ask her where her "toy" is if she doesn't use it. :)

I'll probably check out the Medscape, too, since it is free.

I use Skyscape suite? It's pretty good, but doesn't always have the med I'm looking for. It is handy, yet I refer to printed text also. The other day, an older doc saw me using it and chuckled at how things have changed.

I've been using my Epocrates for a week or so now, and I like it a lot. I coughed up the money and bought one of the upgrade versions. The screens snap quickly, which is nice -- no waiting for screens to load while you're talking to your preceptor. I like the Pill Identifier a lot. It has already come in handy. I may also download Medscape's freebie, as I think there is more information about diseases/disorders in Medscape than Epocrates. We shall see.

Late to the party, but wanted to add that I recently tried ARUP consult on my iphone. It's free and is a great resource for disease topics and diagnostics. Highly recommend !
