Ancc exam/aanp failure

Hi everyone please this thread so is for those who recently took the exam this 2014. Please I just took the AANP and failed. I felt like the world was over yesterday. I asked myself where is God? because I cried for him before I went in for that exam. I used leik second edition and barkley book 2013 and bought 10 bundles of AANP-FNP questions which was a complete joke. please don't waste your time on it. I believe I need the recent information. Please I want to sit for the ANCC. what is the best 2014 updated study material to use for ANCC I want to focus on one particular information. Reviews to me don't help because I took kaplan for nclex and it was a complete waste of my money because I never used it but studied from other materials and passed nclex at cut off 75 without any problem for the first time. I took the FNP AANP exam want to sit for FNP ANCC exam next

I have to say that I used Fitzgerald, Barkley, Leik, and AANP-FNP.com. I really felt quite confident and well prepared after using the AANP-FNP practice exams and credit my passing to those practice exams. I would suggest the Leik book as a good study guide. It has a ton of practice questions with great rationales as well.

Funny with those AANP-FNP/familynpprep.com tests. I'm taking my AANP-FNP boards in a few days, and thought about getting a 2-test bundle. Have heard many say they were nothing at all like ANCC or AANP, and others say they were great prep. How long ago did you test?

I tested just a few months ago and really thought they were great. Use SAVE-ELOSK and get I think 10% off. A friend gave me this code and it worked then. They are WAY cheaper than the practice tests through AANP or Barkely and I think they were just as comprehensive. Get a few and see what you think.

Sorry you weren't successful the first time around. I just took the AANP exam and passed this week. I took the Barkley live review in late April, then took his advice and studied with others on several occasions. I also had the Fitzgerald cds and Leik book. I studied the Barkley guide, reinforced with the streaming audio. Occasionally listened to Fitzgerald, but her format seemed to be mostly q & a. Worked better for me after having studied the rest. Also did the AANP practice test about a week prior to the actual exam. I felt well prepared. From what I understand, the 2 exams have a slightly different focus. If your program was heavy on non-clinical information, you should be fine with the ANCC. If not, you may have additional information- research, reimbursement, etc. -to try to retain as well. Think about what will work best for you. Good luck!

I took my AANP today and failed. I feel the same way...sick to my stomach. I took the Fitzgerald review course and took the AANP practice exam i scored a 70%. I felt like the actual exam was nothing like the practice exam. Where do I go from here?? I was told I have to do 15 CEs. I've heard about Liek (sp). Any advice? Thanks.

I used Amelie online review and I tell you I love her to death. She makes everything easy to understand. I will encourage everyone to take her review. I also bought questions from AANP website for $50 to assess my knowledge

I took in July and failed and when I got my results I was even more ****** to know that I was 2 questions away from passing. I had previously taken Barkley review and did what he said which is to master his material and not use any additional resources or tests. Obviously that didn't work as I failed.

The second time around I studied religiously with someone else, used multiple resources (Barkley, Leik, NHI and Examedge practice questions. I believe that the Leik questions and those from Examedge really helped me to figure out what they were asking on the actual test. The questions were similiar but doing all those practice questions, if nothing else helps you to narrow the answers down and reinforce the information you have studied.

My second exam was almost 2 months later. The second time around my study time was significantly less(2 weeks) for 1-2 hours each day. But in the actual exam I felt like I was better prepared to answer the questions asked.

It seems like the end of the world but you will pass. Just don't wait too long.
