Ancc exam/aanp failure

Published

Hi everyone please this thread so is for those who recently took the exam this 2014. Please I just took the AANP and failed. I felt like the world was over yesterday. I asked myself where is God? because I cried for him before I went in for that exam. I used leik second edition and barkley book 2013 and bought 10 bundles of AANP-FNP questions which was a complete joke. please don't waste your time on it. I believe I need the recent information. Please I want to sit for the ANCC. what is the best 2014 updated study material to use for ANCC I want to focus on one particular information. Reviews to me don't help because I took kaplan for nclex and it was a complete waste of my money because I never used it but studied from other materials and passed nclex at cut off 75 without any problem for the first time. I took the FNP AANP exam want to sit for FNP ANCC exam next

I am proud to say that I passed the AANP FNP exam today. I was feeling stressed, I developed bronchitis several days prior to the exam but I made it through.

Congrats!! Good luck at your new job! (I think I remember you saying you had one lol)

Congratulations!!!! I developed Shingles while getting ready for the exam, so I can understand the stress level.

I am so dishearten right now! I graduated May 14' The first time taking the test was August 14' failed it. I took the AGNP AANP exam and was like ok I can bounce back. I buckled down took the Fitzgerald Review, Bought the review bank questions 15 test bundle and Leik. I studied and studied. I took the same exam and failed again in Dec 14'. Tried to pick myself up and be positive. I thought I had it that time without any problem because I did everything that was needed and much more. Now this is where it gets crazy. I took and different approach and studied differently with index cards, reviewed everything again step by step. Went to take the test TODAY and failed. The whole test was Gerontology I decided that maybe I just need to do Adult only and I paid for the ANCC test and said screw the AANP exam. I feel like a stupido!. I don't know I should have not taken the same test again but I didn't want it to beat me but I have given up today. I am broken and sad and just spent more money again for the ANCC exam. I am just at a lost. My family doesn't understand how bad you feel when you keep going and no results happen. I am down right now and I just keep trying to be positive but how positive can you continue to be.

Hello, topsnipe. Just read your post, and I know the feeling of what it's like to fail. As I am posting a much delayed reply to your post, I am hoping that you have now come to terms with the initial failure, and ready to take on the challenge of taking the test gain. Please don't give up. You are much better than your situation, and remember that failures don't define a person. Let it serve as a reminder and a motivator that you will succeed. There is no other way. Do you this for yourself. You can and will do this! You are an excellent tester, and you don't quit! God bless you! :)

I have been studying for my AGNP and I feel very overwhelmed. Not sure if I should keep reading review books or study questions. Can anyone offer some advice ?

Did you feel your exam was similar to your previous exam?

Hello

I recently passed the AANP on the first try! I was prepared and scheduled to take both exams, but since I passed the AANP, I have postponed the ANCC for a later date. Nonetheless I studied for both exams. Do lots of questions! If you have the Leik Intensive Review book, read the book from front to back and complete all of the questions. I also recommend the Leik webinar review!

In addition:

AANP online practice exam

ANCC/ANA Family Nurse PractitionerIQ test (Online ANA Knowledge center)

ANCC 4th edition VL I and II-complete all the questions

Barkley online DRT

APEA online predictor exam

Exam Edge online: 10 ANCC and 2 AANP predictor exams

Also, know the material. When you know the material you can't go wrong! Learn how to identify dermatology vesicular rashes, macules, papules, acne etc. Differentiating ocular emergencies is also a necessity for NP practice. It is imperative that the NP can identify a number of eye disorders or the normal eye. Learn how to manage asthma, DM, and HTN based on current guidelines.

I hope this helps! Good luck to you.
