To apply on Staffing Agencies or Direct hire?

Good day. I have an 8years experience as an OR NURSE 6years in my home country and 2years in Dubai... im here in the US now and passed the NCLEX for New York... im on a job hunt on indeed and other carreer websites. Im receiving callers almost everyday from agencies offering me Nursing Jobs and asking me to fillout the forms etc. i just want to ask if its alright to be in an Staffing Agency or not? Any PRO and CONS? or do i have to wait a little more to be hired directly from hospitals?

Pros with agency are a quick job start, cons are it is generally temp and watch out for taxes! Many agencies say "half your income is tax free!" Of course nothing is tax free, have to pay taxes yourself.
