What is your dream job?

Let me start by saying I LOVE my current gig. The hours are perfect, I work with great staff, I have a 15 minutes commute...

BUT, if I were to describe a job where I could be doing anything, I would love to be working out in the community doing home visits for moms with newborns. When I worked as a Nurse Practitioner, I specialized in newborns and all the new babies would come to me for their first pediatrician visit after being discharged from the hospital. I loved all of the teaching, reassuring the worried parents, catching issues before they became a problem, and of course, getting to snuggle with all those sweet babies.

Ideally I would love to find a program where I could use my Spanish and visit at-risk families with new babies. I haven't been able to find anything like this in my community. Like I said, I love what I am doing right now, but I would consider a change if something as I described was an option.

What about everyone else?

Meeeeee tooooooo!

Specializes in Case Management/your.

My dream job would be working M-F, 7:30-4, can work from home, no weekends, no call, no holidays, making $50/hr with PTO and benefits and retirement. Non-nursing job would be to own a Fortune 500 company.

.....

I am a home hospice nurse and let me say something I never thought I'd say when I was working in acute care... I freakin' LOVE my job!!! It is incredibly rewarding and the patients are actually so happy to see you. Don't get me wrong, it is challenging...there are days when I end feeling mentally exhausted. But, I hope I can do this job until I retire...one day.

A nurse hopefully practitioner .. which is why I'm here.

I think you have the right idea

Other than school nursing......I want to run a bar on a beach....that is it, be a beach bum with income!

I think you have the right idea

Part time youth and elderly volunteer for health counseling in a community based setting to pull other resources together for them.

Specializes in ED, School Nurse.

I would love to be a back-up singer in a band, like maybe Pink Floyd or ELO (I know Pink Floyd is no more, but you asked about a DREAM job). When I listen to music I always cue in to the back up singers and the harmonies they add to the song.

I have a pretty sweet gig right now between my school nurse job and my camp job so I like where I am in my career right now.
