I absolutely looove that! I'm in a big urban city so it does not happen often, but I relish when it does. The best was when I ran into a 5th grader who had just withdrawn. I had had issues with the parent in the past (one of those who wants a call for every scrape or 5 minute headache), but the kiddo was just gushing over me, saying she was going to miss me and how I was a really great nurse. Made my day. My mom was with me too and she got a kick out of it as well.

Doesn't it just do your heart good when you hear it?
Today I ran into a young student while i was returning things at Kohl's. She stopped dead in her tracks, then broke out in a smile. Running to catch up with her parent, she's yelling (in spanglish),"Mami! Papi! mi NURSH! mi NURSH!" she was so happy to see me she dragged her poor parents back with her, then proceeded to chatter about Santa, the big snow, and all her presents while her parents had that look of "Who the heck is this?"
I just love being the school nursh.
