Non-nursing associates degree to BSN?

Nursing Students ADN/BSN

I have an associates degree in math and science from laguardia c.c and I was going to transfer to another community college to get my 2 year associates in nursing (RN). I wanted to know if there was a way or program that I could do to get my BSN in only two years since I already have two years in college. Or would I have to do the whole four years?

Visit the websites of schools with nursing programs in the area where you live (NYU, CUNY, SUNY, Adelphi) and see what the specific requirements are to enroll in their BSN degree programs. You may or may not need to complete some prerequisite courses.

If the websites are not clear, you can always call the the nursing program departments of these schools to talk to an adviser.

Hi. I was wondering the same thing as well! I have a Diploma in Chem Lab Tech in Canada but will be moving to Albany Area and was wondering if any credits would count towards BSN directly rather than doing a ASN then BSN. At OP, did you find out anything worth mentioning?

Thanks!

Most traditional BSN programs take 2 to 2.5 years, but of course you have to have all of the prereqs done before starting.

It all depends on the pre-reqs of the BSN program you are applying for. As long as you have all of them and you are accepted into the program - you'll be good as it normally takes two years (2 1/2 for some) to complete your BSN.

I imagine it would take close to three years due to nursing having some specific pre-reqs for licensing purposes. Unless you have those pre-reqs such as anatomy, physiology, microbiology, etc. Some of them you would have.
