I would like to know how long it will take for an associates with no previous college. Also are there online schools that are faster to obtain the degree?

Hi,

Go to your local community college and see what they have to offer. You can usually get the info online as well.

I belive most adn programs require prerecs and then the nursing classes are aprox 4 semesters.

Nursing school requires lots of "hands on" and clinical experience - so I do not think that you could do a first nursing degree online.

Most ADN programs are two academic years of nursing courses, and people typically spend 1-2 years completing the prerequisites (depending on full-time vs. part-time, if they're able to get into all the classes they need without delay, etc.) If you choose to go part-time, it can take quite a bit longer.

I heard someone say that some Los Angeles colleges are 1 1/2 years for an ADN. Would like to know which ones.

I can't see the prereq's being included in that number, but I could be wrong.

All the programs I looked into in Los Angeles were 2 years. Can't say I've seen them all, but it looks like it will be 2 years.
