A career decision

Nursing Students ADN/BSN

Published

I decided that I don't want to think about or pursue an advanced degree in Nursing after I get an ADN. I know I'm not "old" at 33 and that I have plenty of time to pursue it later. I also don't wanna stare at the long road of at least SIX years of schooling from this point (2 for ADN, 2 more for RN-BSN completion, & 2-3 more for NP school).

I won't mind, after an ADN, taking time to pursue a BSN but I'd be really takin' my time..

I don't think I could stomach that much school. I waited 15 years with my ADN before getting my BSN and got my BSN one class at a time, taking 2.5 years. I'm more than 99% sure this is where I'm going to stay. As I age in nursing I'm glad I went for the BSN to give me more options.
