will graduating with honors help?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I'm considering applying to the honors program for next semester. Will graduating with honors help when I'm looking for jobs? I'm in an ADN program, and I plan to take a BSN bridge program at a different school, probably online.

Specializes in PACU, pre/postoperative, ortho.

It should help you to at least get a call, but don't bank on it either.

I graduated at the top of my class, given the annual award by faculty, & it still took 4 months to get hired (I'm in a rural area). One hospital that I really wanted a chance at never responded to my applications & did not return phone calls. However, 2 fellow classmates who struggled their whole way through the program were hired there within about 6-8 wks of graduation. Why them & not me?? I have no idea....but I did get calls for interviews (finally) from 4 hospitals within a 10 day period & then got called back again for all of them with either job offers or requests for 2nd interview!

I think all nursing programs are so competitive to get into that you basically have to have 'honors' to be considered...
