Which path in CA?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi yall,

I just graduated with a B.A. in biological sciences with a 2.97 overall GPA and in an earlier post someone told me my stats weren't competitive enough for ABSN programs. So, currently my plan is to apply to a ADN program next fall for two years and hopefully do an online BSN program. However, with the ADN + the bridged ADN to BSN OR RN to BSN totals up as four years. So, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions if I can make a use out of my Bachelors and shorten the time it takes to start working as fast as possible. I'm currently working part-time and taking microbio and anatomy this semester. I plan to take human physiology in the spring and study for the TEAS (plan to also take it at the end of fall).

If anyone has any suggestions on any ABSN programs that I have a chance at getting into or anyways to make my stats more competitive so I can apply to an ABSN programs it would be great. Sorry for the grammar.

thanks,

You should not count yourself out. My GPA for my Bachelor is 2.89 and I am going for a Pre-licensing Masters in Nursing. While it may not be as competitive, it does not say you will never get into a program. Check the website of the school and attend their info sessions to ask all questions that come to mind.

The Masters degree I am going for is only 22 months which is about the amount of time it takes for a BSN or ADN.

I say still go for it. There are plenty of programs out there so apply and let them say no. Do not listen to others or go off your own thoughts. You could be selling yourself short.

Good Luck and God Bless

Shonda
