What was your GPA, when you got accepted into nursing school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing Nursing Q/A

There seems to be a lot of questions on how important GPA is to get into a program.

I decided to start a thread where people can see , and average them out. We can all speculate on the importance, but to see the numbers, sometimes helps.

I hope it helps some people. I hope we all achieve our goals.

I start in January an RN program, my GPA is 4.0

My GPA right now is a 3.9. I hope to keep it above 3.0 so I can attend graduate school.

Just to add some balance....well under 3.0, but my school only looks at the prerequisites.

I have 4.0 in the prerequisites.

Got accepted into a top 10 school

Cum GPA = 3.2

Pre-Req = 3.68

I think what helped me is holding a previous undergraduate degree and the interview process.

Where did you go??

Pre-4.0

Graduation: 4.0

I wouldn't recommend going for a 4.0. Unless you don't mind stressing your marriage, your spirit, and your body. Yeah, life long thick maned head of hair falling out by handfuls.

Hey guys! I just decided to share with you people that I just have received the acceptance letter!!!

My school require TEAS and prereqs GPA which are 4.0 and 77% =)

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

Pre-req GPA: 4.0, cumulative GPA 3.9

Halfway through nursing school, overall GPA is still 3.9 ?

Follow up: graduated nursing school in May 2015. GPA 3.86

The dip is thanks to the no-rounding policy of the nursing program. I missed a 4.0 in Peds by 0.3 points. Ugh! That just killed me. In any other class, it would have been rounded up. But, I worked my butt off for those grades, so I'm happy I made it through with my GPA still on the upper end. I really had to learn to let go of the 4.0 "perfection" in nursing school ;)

3.9 GPA when I got accepted earlier this summer.

Specializes in Post Acute, Med/Surg, ED, Nurse Manager.

Mine is a 3.5. I was accepted into a ADN program.

Mine was a 3.8. I had volunteer experience at a hospital, recommendations from them, and a public health internship with recommendations too. I got an 89 on the TEAS, and got into a BSN program.

92% on HESI A2 Admissions Test which I found less difficult than the TEAS V test I took for another school that I got an 86% on.

My cumulative GPA was 2.71 (Freshman year messed me up) and my GPA from the current school I was attending when applying was 3.1. My GPA was not competitive at all, so I think the admissions assessments were what saved me. I start in the Fall.

I was told a GPA of a 3.6 and a HESI score of 90% is usually necessary to secure a spot into a nursing program.
