First of all I am new to this site, so I'm not sure if I am posting in the right place, or what. Anyway, Here is my long academic story. I am currently earning my Bachelors degree in Psychology. I had switched to nursing last year (my junior year), but then got pregnant. So I decided to just finish up with Psychology because it was my fastest and easiest way to finish with a baby. He is now 7 months old, and I have been finishing my degree in psych online. I am hoping to graduate this spring. But I still really want to do nursing. I only got to complete one semester of nursing, and I really loved it. My son is my everything, I love him to death, and I have no regrets, but I hope I can find a program that will allow me to pursue my future goals.
There is a community college that offers ADN (RN) degrees near me, and also a school that offers Masters in nursing (direct entry with a BS in something other than nursing). I am afraid that the masters program will be too hard for me, especially since my GPA is not that great right now because last year I struggled a bit during my pregnancy.. What are my options for this now? Is it not worth it to get my ADN? Then I would have a bachelors in psych and adn... Just not sure where to really go from here, but trying not to get discouraged from becoming a nurse. I want to have a career that I enjoy, and can make decent money for my new family.
