Hi everyone, I am new here, so not quite sure how to navigate around this that well yet, so bear with me. I just graduated this spring with my Bachelors in Psychology. I do not really have a desire to seek out a psych job, or continue to get my masters with it, because I am very interested in nursing. I had switched my major to nursing my junior year of college, and got one semester into it, when I found out I was pregnant. It was too hard for me to continue with nursing while pregnant at the time, and I was so close to graduating with psych, that I decided to continue my classes through the school's online program with psychology. So now I have my degree at least, and it feels good, but I still really want to pursue nursing! Even the one semester I did have was enough for me to realize that it is indeed my passion. Since I had transfered into that major though, I didn't have the pre-reqs done, and they were allowing me to take them as I went along. Also, I only passed my nursing fundamentals class with a C, due to my stressful situation at the time. So basically, I want to get started in any way I can. I don't know if it is best to take my pre-reqs at a community college, and then try to apply somewhere? I know they have those direct entry programs where you enter with a bachelors in something other than nursing. I don't know. I really need some advice as to where to start the process, if anyone can help at all, I would really appreciate it. I live in NH, close to UNH, Great Bay Community College, etc. But I am willing to move locations if I had to, in order to pursue this career.

Hello all, First of all I am new to this site, so I'm not sure if I am posting in the right place, or what. Anyway, Here is my long academic story. I am currently earning my Bachelors degree in Psychology. I had switched to nursing last year (my junior year), but then got pregnant. So I decided to just finish up with Psychology because it was my fastest and easiest way to finish with a baby. He is now 7 months old, and I have been finishing my degree in psych online. I am hoping to graduate this spring. But I still really want to do nursing. I only got to complete one semester of nursing, and I really loved it. My son is my everything, I love him to death, and I have no regrets, but I hope I can find a program that will allow me to pursue my future goals. There is a community college that offers ADN (RN) degrees near me, and also a school that offers Masters in nursing (direct entry with a BS in something other than nursing). I am afraid that the masters program will be too hard for me, especially since my GPA is not that great right now because last year I struggled a bit during my pregnancy.. What are my options for this now? Is it not worth it to get my ADN? Then I would have a bachelors in psych and adn... Just not sure where to really go from here, but trying not to get discouraged from becoming a nurse. I want to have a career that I enjoy, and can make decent money for my new family. Thanks all
