UIC Grad Entry Program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello all,

I was just looking for some info about the UI at Chicago grad entry program. My application packet is sitting on the table ready to be mailed and I get knots in my stomach every time I think about it....

Does anyone know some stats for the people that got in last year? Or are you applying this year and don't mind sharing your info? Just curious where I stand.

I have a 3.10 undergrad, 580 v 640 q 5.0 writing. I volunteer at a hospital and a heatlh center. Also some grad work and about a 3.5 in the pre-reqs. I've been in the Army for the past four years.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting to hear?

Hello, hello,

Get that packet in the mail! They changed the early deadline of March first to the final deadline due to high applications. I would not know this if it wasn't for the information session that I attended. The website says that they will still take applications until June first but, we were told that this would no longer be true.

I have jitters too, sent my packet in last week. We should know by mid March if we get called back for an interview and final decisions should be by May 15th.

Good luck!! You sound like you are a competitive candidate and hopefully we will both get in and meet each other!!

When I emailed the coordinator to ask if my gre made the minimum qualifications she said that it was comparable to the first years group, (although, they only had about 3 weeks notice and 28 were accepted). My numbers were 560+530+4.5, (not super but acceptable). However at the information session they said our entire packet would be considered and that the average numbers for the gre was being pushed higher due to the high applicant pool, (like your good numbers).

There is a difference if you take months to study for it, or if you take a class or if you take it off the cuff and the minimums that I have heard of from DePauls graduate entry program is 500+500+4.0 so, we are good.

Thanks for your info! Why is the post office closed today? Why!??!

There was a snag with one of my letters of rec. I will get it in the mail tomorrow. They don't start to review them until March 1st right? I went to an info session in November and that's what they said then.

Thanks for sharing your stuff. Best of luck and hope to meet you next Jan!!

You are good, yes, they don't review them until March 1st. They will only accept packets until the March 1st postmark also.

You do have some time but, wanted to share that the date was moved up. I attended a slightly more recent info session and don't know when the deadline was moved up but, unfortunately for those who don't know, they won't find out online.

Fingers crossed!!

I emailed the graduate coordinator to see if applicants would receive verification of packet receipt. The coordinator did say that when she enters our application as complete we ought to get an email, (by around March 12th or so.)

p.s. trying to remain calm...
