TEAS vs PAX RN

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am between two different nursing schools.

One is for a BSN program. I would need to score a 60% or higher in the math and reading section on the TEAS exam.

Another is an ADN program. I would need a composite score of 105 and 50% on the verbal section on the PAX RN exam.

Does anyone have any advice on which would be easier to take, or what books to get? I have been checking out Barnes and Noble.

I don't know anything about PAX RN, but a 60% is entirely do-able for the TEAS. The reading is similar to the reading section on the SAT or ACT. The math section focuses on percentages, ratios, area and volume, fractions, and some basic algebra. For the TEAS, I liked the Mometrix study guide. Others have talked about the McGraw Hill one being good as well.

I took the PAX without studying and without having a science class in 22 years and got 141. Anyone who wants to be a nurse should be able to take it and get over 100 any day of the week IMO.
