Teas V - feedback appreciated

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi everyone:

I'm gearing up to take the new TEAS exam version 5. Just wondering for those that have taken it, is it fairly similar to the study guide? I've noticed that the Math section especially is shorter than the TEAS version IV. I just don't want to set myself up for expecting less, when in actuality there's probably more or the same.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thank you!

Hello, i just wanted to ask a simple question. My school min grade for the teas V is a 58.6 which to me sounds extremely low or am i wrong? Is the 58 a median or is that low? Also im not the best time test taker but I do have a grasp on most of the topics on the teas so IF(which im not) i was to go and take the teas v without studying would you believe i would score close to lower or above a 58?

Hi,

I haven't taken it yet but the school I plan to attend you must score a 75 or higher in each section. Another school my friend is going to it was 75 or higher in total. Yours sounds very low. You should check with an adviser to see what average the school is accepting students with. Also, how much weight the GPA & TEAS test each hold as well and what other factors are involved in the schools selection process.

Yes at my school MDC it is about 58% it dropped from 68% .. But Im sure the higher the better...

I took the TEAS V earlier this year and the study guide questions were the same format as the questions on the actual exam. All the charts and graphs were very similar as well. The ATI study book was a HUGE help for me and I would definitely recommend studying from it as much as you can! Good Luck!

My school is not even giving a minimum required score. It could be that your school is fairly new to the test....maybe offering it for the first time? For me, this is the first year my program has required an entry exam at all (just my luck). The TEAS V has been averaging a 10% lower score than the other exams...maybe that is why their requirement is so low. Dont let that freak you out though.....the test is not THAT hard. You are more than capable of making a grade that you will be satisfied with!

hey iim taking the teas v on the 14th and i've been studying from the ati 3.0 study manual ,nursing school entrance exam, and [color=#0e774a]www.testprepreview.com/teas_practice.htm. do you guys honeslty think that i should still purchase the 5.0 ati edition??

This is how the test is set up:

Reading - 48 Questions - 58 minutes

Mathematics - 34 Questions - 51 minutes

Science - 48 Questions - 59 minutes

English and

Language Skills - 34 Questions - 34 minutes

There's a total of 170 Questions (only 150 Questions actually count towards your grade) and it totals to 209 minutes of testing time (so right around 3hrs and 30 minutes).

---hope this helps!

I was wondering if anyone recently has taken the TEAS V recently and has seen any questions on the tectonic plates or rocks. And if they have what certain topics would you need to know in order to get the questions correct?

I've been reading some of the forums and I'm unsure if maybe people taking the different versions of the TEAS test are experiencing problems like that.

I have the ATI study guide for the Version V and it doesn't have anything about rocks or tectonics.

So if anyone has taken this test currently would you please clarify this for me??? I'd really appreciate it. :)

scarlettrose: i did not have anything about rocks or tectonics. i did on the nln and so i made sure to study those types of questions before taking the teas v. but i didnt have one single question about it.

abjones: i would not recommend using the older version guide for the teas v exam. the questions are very different and somewhat more difficult on the v version. also, concerning the testprepreview website...if you look at all the tests they offer "example questions" for, they are all the same. many of the questions they show have nothing to do with the topics that are offered on the teas v exam. it has several types of math problems, science topics, etc that are not even on the exam. i would highly recomment getting the 5.0 guide. i even used the mcgraw-hill and it was extremely helpful! good luck!!!

okay, i didn't think there would be. thank you for clearing that up!

Hello, I have spoken to one of my advisor he told me thats the overall score, also i believe since it is a community college maybe thats why the aspects are not so high the prereq are sociology, psychology, AP 1, and english 101 which i have an A on all four subjects it just seems wierd to me that a 58 is so low but i guess the reason the scores are higher because a comparsion to a 4 year school oppose to a 2 year

So if there are 170 questions you can miss up to 20 because 150 questions only count? haha sorry i'm confused and know this questions is dumb!
