scarlettrose: i did not have anything about rocks or tectonics. i did on the nln and so i made sure to study those types of questions before taking the teas v. but i didnt have one single question about it. abjones: i would not recommend using the older version guide for the teas v exam. the questions are very different and somewhat more difficult on the v version. also, concerning the testprepreview website...if you look at all the tests they offer "example questions" for, they are all the same. many of the questions they show have nothing to do with the topics that are offered on the teas v exam. it has several types of math problems, science topics, etc that are not even on the exam. i would highly recomment getting the 5.0 guide. i even used the mcgraw-hill and it was extremely helpful! good luck!!!

My school is not even giving a minimum required score. It could be that your school is fairly new to the test....maybe offering it for the first time? For me, this is the first year my program has required an entry exam at all (just my luck). The TEAS V has been averaging a 10% lower score than the other exams...maybe that is why their requirement is so low. Dont let that freak you out though.....the test is not THAT hard. You are more than capable of making a grade that you will be satisfied with!

I was so upset with my score. I made a 78%. I am still not sure what to expect as far as acceptance goes. I made a perfect score on both reading and english. on math i made an 85%. The science floored me! I thought I was pretty well prepared....umm.....nope! The bad thing is that you cant repeat the test for 6 weeks. Unfortunately I dont have that long until my application is due. I have a 4.0 GPA, I have taken all of my non-nursing courses and will be turning in everything next week. We will see.

Hey there! I took the NLN a couple months ago. Hopefully I can remember enough to help! Vocabulary: http://www.proprofs.com/flashcards/search.php?page=2&search=nln You can search this site for nln vocabulary flashcards where people have actually created flashcards of words that they came across. Reading: The time runs out on this one so fast! It is definitely the easiest...just dont linger on one story bc the time goes quickly. Math: Algebra, Metric Conversions, Geometry, Basic Math, Percents, Fractions, Decimals. I had numerous algebra questions: order of operations and solve, long division, multiplication, etc. Easy stuff. However, about 50% of my questions revolved around decimals, percents, and fractions. Make sure you are comfortable with converting one to the other. Ex: What is 5/9 as a percentage? What is 72% written as a decimal? And so on....Also, geometry. Know how to find the area of the basic shapes, the perimeter, pi, radius,the formulas (pythagorean theorem) etc. Science: I maybe had 5 Anat & Physiology questions. If you go by the NLN testing books, it actually says there are no anatomy quesions. I put some sample questions below. The rest were chemistry and physics. Know atoms, valences, metals and nonmetals, subatomic particles, scientific notation, DNA, Mitosis, Reproductive part of plants, punnett squares, how organisms are classified, Hypertonic/hypotonic/Isotonic, work and energy, circuits. speed, velocity, acceleration. Ex. Science questions (the ones i can remember): ***(picture of mitosis phase) Question: Which phase of mitosis does this picture represent? ***Diagram of eye: Which part of the eye allows light to pass? ***Color blindness involves defect of which part of the eye? ***What part of the body is associated with equilibrium and balance? ***Which represents the female in plant reproduction: pistil, stamen, anther, pollen? ***What does a punnett square show? ***What is the correct order of classification for organisms? (kingdom, phylum,etc) ***(Picture of a food web) what does this picture represent? ***The scientific name of an animal represents its (?). (genus & species) ***(pic of chemical symbol of an atom) What is atomic mass? ***(pic of principal energy levels) Finish the electron configuration. If atom has 10 electrons, how many electrons are needed for the second PEL to make it complete? ***The horizontal row of the periodic table represents the (?) ***Arrangement of the periodic table is based on (?) ***A tincture is dissolved in which solvent? ***convert 22 degrees celcius to farenheit. ***standing on the moon, you drop a feather and brick at the same time. which hits first? ***what is the unit of measure for force? ***(picture of circuit) which type of circuit does this represent? tleelove : from all of the people i have spoken with regarding this test, there is no geometry. it is primarily algebra, metric conversions, percentages, decimals, fractions, ratio/proportion. make sure you are comfortable with converting decimals/fractions/ and percentages. i know the nln and teas are somewhat similar in the math portion (-graphs and geometry) and i tell you that those were 50% of my questions! what fraction is equivalent to 30%?....what is 5/9 as a percent?....etc.

Hey! I am also getting ready to take the TEAS V test. I take it this week! Any insight on what I should brush up on this last week (in the science portion) would be greatly apprciated!!!!
