Tablet for note taking?

Would the kindle fire hd be good for this? Looking for a good tablet with easy note taking and for a reasonable price.

I recently got an ipad not necessarily for taking notes but to go trough my professors power points easier. Now there's no need to print them and have all those papers carried everywhere and lying around the house. I have downloaded apps to record my future lectures though. The iPad's battery also lasts forever and I don't have the hassle of having to carry a laptop and charger make sure there's an outlet close by etc.[/quote']

If you don't mind me asking, how do you get the power points on to the iPad? (New iPad user)

You can download the Adobe Reader app and it will open the file for you.

There's an app named Documents and it lets me open the power points and save then into the app. Hope this helps.

I have the Documents app also but for MS Word also. Adobe Reader is great because you can type directly onto the PowerPoint :) I used it during Micro and a bunch of my classmates were jealous and wanted to get an iPad for this reason! Haha. Try both and see which you like best.

Oh and to add.. It also lets you highlight and underline things

I just got the Adobe app, can't wait to start using it!! Thanks!!

I have the mini and I love it. It isn't as small as you may think. IMO it is the perfect size.

I know this thread is about taking notes on tablets, but do any of you have any of your school books or reference books on ur tablets? I don't have one yet and I'm still debating iPad or kindle fire, I know the kindle had loads of books thru amazon I'm just not sure about textbooks or the like. Anyone have a say about this?

MackJean- I have a kindle fire and an iPhone. If you are considering the kindle merely for the books, you can get a 'kindle' app for the iPad. This allows the power points and things that are easier on the iPad, while also giving you access to all your amazon content. I love my kindle fire, but prefer to use it only for reading.

Thank you so much mommafroggy!! This was exactly what I was looking for! :)

Glad I could help. I love my kindle fire, but truthfully prefer my regular kindle instead for leisure reading. I'm considering selling my kindle fire and purchasing an I-pad for school. That way, I can have the best of both worlds. :) For now, my iPhone will have to do. Best of luck to you!
