Spring 2011 Physio AND Micro

Hey I was wondering if I can get some feedback from people who have taken this route or are going to take this route. I know it is not ideal but I want to get into nursing school ASAP and all the the nursing schools here (SO CAL) want you to be done with ALL pre-reqs before applying to get into the following semester (i.e. your done in spring, you apply in fall to get in the NEXT spring...talk about a waste of a semester if you have everything done aka me)

So the fastest way to get into nursing school is to shove these two together in the same semester. Another problem is that not only to I have be registered and get the classes (which is not easy) I also have to ACE them too. I mean if you do the pre-reqs and get even 1 B, the nursing schools around here won't even bother looking at your application; and only 1 retake is allowed.

So its either I do them separate, hopefully ace them (and get into nursing school 2 years from now [totally not ideal]), or do them together, have no social life, ace them, get into nursing school next year...

Any thoughts?

Did I mention I also work full time as a restaurant server with no way to cut hours for school because I, like everyone, else have bills to pay?

If you are not taking any classes other than those two, I would like to say that you would be able to pull it off if you are very focused. Kiss any social life goodbye until the semester is over. Your hard work will pay off in the long run if it gets you to a higher paying job sooner.

Yes these would be the only classes I am taking. I mean looking at previous class schedules I will be at school all day M-Th from 8am-2pm just to do both classes AND work.

Im just looking for people who have done this or are going to do this to get their opinion on how they handled it or are handling it

I am planning on doing the same thing this spring semester. I don't work but I have two young children.

I wish I could be more help, but really the only advice I can offer is to study as much as possible. Do you know if your professors will provide you with chapter objectives to study from? That's what really helped me.

I have no idea about my teachers. I don't even know who will be teaching it yet. I'm taking chemistry and A&P 1 this semester and it's a whole lot of work but somehow I'm doing it. I'm just hoping that next semester won't be even harder. I can't study anymore than I already do.

That's pretty similar to how I did it. I took Chemistry and A&P I during the fall then took Micro and A&P II in the spring. It was a pretty similar workload so if you're managing it now I expect you'll do just as well next semester.

Yeah I haven't done anatomy yet but the person that.teaches anatomy (when I take it in winter) will also teach physiology that spring. I have done advanced chem and bio classes so I'm hopingthat helps m. I'm good at scince so I hope that counts toward me too.
