ive doing so good in my pre reqs, but i am nit good in math AT ALL, chemistry, only the math part is so super hard.

now im 2nd guessing myself...:(

Try even harder, how bad do you want to become a nurse? If its your dream to become a nurse, then show it. I can't stress that enough, try other methods of studying if one does not work. If math is your main problem, then practice, practice, and practice.

Im not into math either, and i hate it..but thats one subject, i practice more than anything and I aced all my math clases b/c of it. Its required for nursing. In Nursing school, you will do med calculations w/out a calculator (you need at least a 90%) . So train yourself, be ahead of the game. Learn why your making errors and try to correct them. Give yourself tests and quizzes each day. Do homework, even if its not due.

Sharpen your math skills skills. I took chemistry in HS (taking it in the summer now), and i remember that in class, we had so many formulas to memorize. So the problem wasn't the math, but conversions,/formulas.

I wish you all the best..

You can do it....the first thing you need to do is to stop telling yourself that you're not good in math. Everyone can do basic math (which is most of the math you're likely doing in chemistry). I understand you're not doing well now, but that doesn't mean you can't get better.

The real concern is most of the math in basic chemistry is dimensional analysis.....which is exactly the kind of math you'll need to do for nursing school for med calculations.

So, find out if your school has a science or math tutoring center, and take advantage of whatever services they offer. Also, make an appointment to talk to your Prof and get an idea of what you're doing wrong.

You can do this, it's likely going to take a lot of work, but you can do this!!!

this is excellent advice! i thank both of you!!!!

If you can't finish with a B or higher, I would drop the class if you still can without an F. Take the time to study up and retake it later.

Or, if you can salvage the grade, talk to your professor. Tell him/her what your goals are and see what you can do to bring it up.

Either way, GO TO THIS WEBSITE: http://www.khanacademy.org and use it for all of your math and science studies. Trust me, the videos really help! I wish I'd known about it when I was doing my pre-req's, I'd have aced them all.

Best of luck :)
