Should I still pursue nursing?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

So I finally reached the scariest point for a pre-nursing student...waiting to hear back from nursing schools. I've been waiting for two months to hear from 3 schools. My stats are pretty average:

TEAs:82

GPA: 3.37

Science GPA: 3.0

Theres nothing more that I wish to do other than nursing. I'm so nervous to hear back from the school, I check everyday to see if my status has changed. I also volunteer at one of the biggest children's hospitals in Atlanta and I also have over 200 volunteer hours. I hope that helps on my application.

Anways, I'm scared I won't get into nursing school in the fall. I was thinking if I should change my major to Exercise Science and let go of nursing? I'm so hyped about actually being a nurse and it's something I think I would love to do, but if I don't get into any schools, I think I'd have to settle.

There arent many many classes I need to retake. I have a C in AP1 but I doubt it'd make a difference. My school averages classes that are retaken so my science GPA will just become a 3.1. I'm so scared!

Nursing js is my ultimate dream but should I just give up?

No , don't change your major.

If you do not get accepted into the schools you applied for, apply to other ones.

Try to apply to smaller schools that are "not as known" (but make sure they are accredited).

Large schools and universities usually have wait lists and high GPA requirements.

good luck, and don't give up :)

it took me 2 years to get into a nursing school because i was applying to the well known universities, that had waiting lists. Then i found my current school, which many people know about.
