Senior & confused!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone, I'm a senior in high school currently & have applied to many schools but I am almost sure I will be attending Lewis University in Illinois. Well I am going to be a freshmen yet they said I was granted admissions to their nursing program & that I would be taking the Kaplan nursing school entrance exam. My question is if I pass will I take nursing classes off the bat as a freshmen or will I still take regular classes?

I'm so confused lol

Every school is set up a little differently, but you can expect that it will more than likely be a mix of general ed courses that will satisfy that portion of the nursing program, and them perhaps a class or 2 of specific nursing courses. Sometimes you have to get pharmacology or A&P done before you can move on to something else.

When you meet with your academic advisor at college, you can figure out what would best suit you and your study habits. I would not "pack it on" until you get some sense of how difficult it may be to manage a whole lot of classes. I would also encourage you, if you are in advanced placement now, to see if you take the AP test if that can give you some credit.

This is such an exciting time for you, and wishing you nothing but the very best in your future!!

Thank you so much! I was in A&P bio & Cem but had to drop it to attend community college dual credit courses...

but this helped a lot thanks :)
