In response to chill65's thread in to take or not to take medical terminology, for those of you who said to buy a book from Barnes and Noble, can you recommend specific authors or titles? I went on to their website and there were too many books to choose from! Thanks!

;)

I have Comprehensive Medical Terminology by Betty Davis Jones. It is very thorough and has helped me tremendously with my A&P classes. I couldn't find it on Barnes & Noble.

I love Linda Chabner's Language of Medicine.

And I know that it can be ordered from Amazon.com, if the store in youtr area doesn't have it in stock. It comes with its own workbook built right into the book.

i have this book and it is very good. i am taking the online course through my cc and i complete the workbook pages that come with each chapter instead of doing the online modules. i have maintained an "a" in the course and have learned a lot of terms, diseases, and a&p. i found that i actually learned more from the workbook pages than the online modules. this is one book i plan on keeping.

i am currently taking an on-line medical terminology class and am using the textbook ..'medical terminology systems' fifth edition by authors barbara a. gylys and mary ellen wedding. it includes the text book, an interactive terminology cd and an audio cd (to hear the correct pronunciation)....the combination of all three learning activities is excellent. the book is available thru f.a. davis company. call 1-800-323-3555 or go to the website at http://www.fadavis.com
