Pre-req help!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello!

I am applying to some ABSN and entry level Master's nursing programs. I have to take the following pre-reqs:

A+P I and II with lab

Nutrition

Microbiology with lab

Development Psychology

Statistics

I was hoping to take Nutrition, Psyc, and Stats online due to my work schedule. Does anyone know a good online program that is accredited and affordable where I could take these?

Also, I was planning on taking A+P and Micro at a local community college. How do you apply for just one class at a community college?

You're community college should have online courses, I don't think you'll find anything cheaper than what they could offer. If they don't then I'd look at a state school. I did an online developmental psych course through my community college.

As for registering for classes, I called when I was looking into registering and they helped direct me in how to apply. I was made a guest student and had no issues after that registering for a couple classes I needed.

I'm taking all my pre-reqs online through my local community college, just have to go to one of the local campuses testing centers for all my tests. Also when I take micro in the fall I'll have to attend three on campus lab sessions, all over the weekend. Saturday and Sunday one weekend and the following Saturday. It says 8:30am to 5:00pm, not sure if I'll actually have to be there that long each day but I guess I'll find out. So far three of the five classes I need are completed, 2/3 of the way through the fourth class. Going smoothly for me.

As for registering with the community college that took about 10 minutes tops at my school. All done through their website, just fill out some info and being that I'm an adult returning to school I was automatically accepted. I did have to get my college transcripts and email a copy to an administrator so I could avoid some of the pre-req classes for the classes I needed but once I did that I was free to sign up for whatever classes I need. I'm simply attending as a non-degree seeking student.

Make absolutely certain that the program you're interested in will accept the courses before you take them. It's horrible to find out later on - after your application is rejected - that things don't transfer. This usually occurs with 'lab' courses, but it's always best to confirm everything ahead of time.
