Pre-Nursing Exam

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Been out of school for 10 years. In need of advise for TEAS V entrance test. Would I be better of taking some pre-req's course before I take the entrance exam? Or will I be able to study hard for it? Wasn't sure if anyone out there has taken the TEAS V exam after being out of the school loop.

Specializes in Hospice.

Lord, yes. I was 47 when I took it and hadn't taken but a couple classes. It's covering basically high school level academics in Science, English, Math. I would say since you have to do pre reqs for NS anyway, you may as well put off the TEAS til you've had a few. It can only help.

You got this I took my test after having no schooling for 13 years the first time I took it I got a 74% and needed a 75% to past it but I came home and studied my butt off and passed the second time with a 85%. You can do it!!!!

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm actually taking an LPN course at my local Technical School. It didn't have any requirements for pre-req's. It just required to pass the entrance test. I'm taking this route because I would like to get my foot in the door in nursing. You had mentioned lorirn2b; I should just take my pre-req's? I was wondering if I could get my LPN then I would be able to work and go for RN. Do you folks think this is a good route from your experience?

Thank you! That is very helpful!

How do you (and anyone else) recommend studying for it? I purchased the ATI book.

Well, Ati book doesn't cover everything.. So, use other sources.. For Science and Math Section.. Use Khan Academy on youtube .. They have their own site as well.. Best of luck for the exam...
