A&P & Microbio at the same time...omg

So, I'm only a month and some change into the Spring semester and it's just now hitting me that I can't balance both of these classes while working full time. I feel like I bit off a little more than I could chew and my grades are starting to suffer just a bit. Part of me wants to drop one class and just redo it in the summer so I can focus on one at a time, but the other part of me wants to push through it...knowing my grades will suffer. *sigh* Anyone else going through this right now?

Sorry I needed to vent!!

I never took those two classes together but they are very difficult. Micro was a pain in my ass! Just keep in mind that you need to receive good grades in those classes so you can have a competitive gpa

I took A&P and Micro together last semester while working 3 12's it's doable you just need time management. Have notes typed up then email them to yourself, so any free moment such as waiting in line you can study on the go. It also helped that I love science, I'll take all science classes over a generic class any day.

I took both at the same time and scored Bs in both. I probably would have had A 's instead If I didn't have to work

It's definitely hard. I work part time and it's pure torture. I just walked in my house around 12:30 am from work, and I have a micro test at 8 am. I was supposed to have both A&P II and the micro exam tomorrow, but thanks to the weather thing that happened last week they're not on the same day anymore.

I absolutely hate micro lab .. hate it with a passion. If I don't get an A in micro, it'll be because of lab. As for A&P II .. that's a whole 'nother story. Luckily I have already applied to nursing school cause I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull a 4.0 this semester. I'm trying though.

I'm taking A&P 102 and Micro and ya.. it's tough. The tests are conveniently stacked smack next to each other! It doesn't help that I'm also taking two other classes that should be easy but they have a lot of busy work so it takes away from studying. If anything has to suffer, micro will, because our nursing program is pointed so I need that A in anatomy. I'm holding all A's but talk to me in another four weeks and that may be a different story, lol.

Good day:

I'm currently taking both along with life cycle development (a psychology class), and nutritional science. It is very difficult to keep up. I did well on our first AP2 lab exam, and I'm doing well on the weekly Microbiology quizzes. However, I will not know until after tomorrow if it was wise or not to take this load as tomorrow is our first lecture exam for both AP2 and Microbiology.

I'm taking four classes this semester, and two of those are A&P2 and Micro. It's definitely tough, but doable. I also work full time and have a 3-year-old to care for. My husband helps me at home, but some nights, like last night, I have to do bath and bedtime when I should be studying. Oh well. I figure that I am just getting practice for when nursing school starts full time, because that will be a bigger load than this! You can do it!

I took both last Fall while working full time and was able to get A's although it was very tough. However, I'm glad I stuck through it and finished them. I literally spent almost all of my free time studying and had to try different studying styles for my AP lecture because it was the class I had the toughest time with. If you are struggling, I would suggest talking to your professors to see if you still have time to bring up your grades and any studying suggestions they might have. I also spoke with other students who did well and asked them what study modes they used. Best of luck to you. :-)

I did A&P II with micro last semester. I got an A in A&P and a B in micro. I also took 3 other classes and am a single mom. I was glad to get that B in micro. It's definitely doable.

I think most of the people on this thread wrote that "Yeah it's hard but my situation is x, y and z. I made it through, so can you".

Only you know what you can handle. It is not worth it to gamble with your grades. If they are starting to suffer, drop one class and just retake it in the summer. A W on your transcript looks better than a D or F, or even a C depending on how competitive your program is.
