MSMU (CA) Fall 2017 [Pre-Nursing]

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

So I just finished my first semester at Mount Saint Mary's Univerity for the BSN Program and I had a lot of concerns. The entire program plus the prerequisites is 4 years. If you take less than the classes you are given or withdraw from even one then you'll become a "5 year" student. When I first attended I always said I'm never going to be a 5 year student but now I am one lol. Originally my schedule was 8 classes at 18 units (the maximum) and I was taking Mircobiology lecture and lab PLUS Human Anatomy lecture and lab. Ideally, if you pass all these in the first semester then in the spring you'll take Human Physiology lecture and lab and apply for admission at the end of the spring semester. I just want to ask is it fair to have to do an extra year just because a course is only offered in the fall? I withdrew from both Human Anatomy lecture and lab and I stayed in Microbiology lecture and lab but only passed the lab and i'm retaking the lecture in the spring. Is this also a fair for first year/freshman students to have a schedule like this? What are your thoughts?
