Is Nutrition course really the hardest course?

Hi guys,

I'm taking Nutrition online in 8 weeks during Spring. All my friends say it's the hardest course they've ever taken no matter which professor I choose; even harder that A&P and Micro.

Is there any way I can go over the course material before to see if I am able of taking it in 8 weeks and online or not? I checked Youtube and I couldn't find anything.

what was your experience with Nutrition course? was it really hard and time consuming?

I took a nutrition course that was a fluffy filler elective, can't imagine in what universe it is harder than microbiology or A&P 2. You must go to an interesting school!

Don't be ridiculous. Sorry for my candor, but this class is no near being as hard or even harder than any A&P course. Granted, the level of easiness is subjective, but for me it has been the easiest course ever. Of course, you have to study quiet a bit, but it is totally manageable and, in my opinion, is an easy A. But then again, are you talking a 100 level nutrition course or a 500 level?

Well, it does sound like a 200 level course. However, it is still no near harder than A&P. Besides, it can be hard if you make it out to be. As long as you study and don't procrastinate, you should be fine.

I completely disagree with the people that said A&P class is harder than nutrition. Now, the actual material in A&P is more difficult and heavy than a typical nutrition course, but that does not mean your A&P class will be harder than nutrition. My nutrition class was MUCH harder than A&P and required A LOT more work because of the teacher I had. My nutrition teacher was ridiculous and it seemed like she set up the class to make it as hard as possible to get an A. A lot of time consuming and useless projects and pop quizzes. On the other hand, the anatomy and physiology professor I had would give out a lot of extra credit and prepared you very well for the exams. It just depends on your specific teacher really. But just like most other classes, you should walk away from nutrition with a decent grade as long as you put in the effort.

Nutrition class was by far the easiest class. We had a group project, twelve 10 question weekly quizzes, and a final. The final consisted of 100/120 questions from our weekly quizzes. I just made flash cards with the question on one side and the correct answer on the other. I kept going over the cards until I knew all the answers. The final took me 20 minutes to answer 100 questions.

well I guess if you have a teacher from hell even a cakewalk class could become more difficult. Even so, nutrition as a college subject IS an easier course than just about any nursing course I can think of and easier than most any of the prerequisites I can think of as well. If you find nutrition to be difficult then I'm not sure what you'd make of core nursing classes to be honest with you. I know I didn't take the same class as everyone else but after all that's what the OP is asking, she's assuming we all had the same course at the same school and naturally that's absurd. Best anyone can do is speak in generalities, and the general consensus, I believe, would be that most any nutrition class shouldn't cause much grief or throw your GPA in the least.

There are fundamentals you need to know. It's probably harder than expected (i.e. gastro absorption), but not harder than A&P.

My nutrition class was, oddly enough, the hardest course I took for my prerequisites. Not because of the actual nutrition component, but like another poster here, my instructor was a sadist. Tons of quizzes, and most of my exams focused on random statistics questions like "What percentage of Cambodians suffer from ricketts at any given time?" Not an actual question, but I'm sure you get the gist.

The first time I took nutrition, the professor was one of those who went out of her way to make the class as hard as possible. She was a retired neonatologist/med school instructor whom I suspect never really figured out how to teach at the undergraduate level. I ended up dropping it. The second time around? Piece of cake. It is NO WHERE NEAR as hard as A&P. A&P itself isn't that hard as long as you consistently study.
