It feels like I have fighter jets in my stomach!!!

Countdown to first day of school ~ 5 days

Yesterday, I retired from my 18 yr career. Yeah for me!

Today, I find my self nervous and excited as never before. My stomach is as tight a drum, and need to find some sort of outlet for this nervous energy. Any Ideas?

How do you find yourself working out your stress?

Ready to POP!!!!!!

If you have a really serious stress problem (i.e. not sleeping at all or sleeping all the time) yoga is the greatest. When you are concentrating on your breathing and positioning, there's no more room in your mind to do anything else outside of the moment. Control you breathing and you control your stress level. Its a skill you can use the rest of your life to help bring you down at night or bring you up in the morning!

Good luck with this....I am finishing up my second week of school and only 'maybe' starting to settle down a little bit. I had worked in my IT position for 6 years and thought I was lucky enough to find a part-time position elsewhere in the company, only to realize on day one of NS that the schedule wouldn't work out with practicum and lab hours!! I stressed for 3 days before calling to quit; I felt horrible, but when I found myself debating the merits of spending anymore money on school 'in case it didn't work out', I realized I wasn't giving myself my best shot. Once I quit, I started feeling a lot less stress, but still lost about 5 lbs. last week (seriously!)....I got on the scale today and am down another 3....this is NOT good!! (Although I could stand to lose another 30 and still be easy to find in the dark).

Now that I'm getting a little more into the swing of things, and have reconciled myself to living off of the student loan I took out "in case" and my small savings, I'm feeling a lot better and am starting to really enjoy school. We had our clinical orientation yesterday and I really can't wait to get out there to start learning!!

I think exercise will be a good thing and I LOVE the yoga advice!! I saw a new studio not far from my home a few weeks ago and I think I'll go check it out!!

Best wishes!!

I am a student nurse in Scotland UK, nearing the end of a long and hard 3 years, but well worth the effort, I love the job.

To relieve stress I took up horse riding, I now have a share, 3 days a week of a wonderfull horse, and I find nothing relieves stress like grooming my lovely boy.
