How can you interview a nurse if you don't know any?

I'm suppose to interview a registered nurse, how do I go about finding a nurse?

I went to one hospital and got told I couldn't do that. They talked about a nurse policy that won't allow nurses to give information out? I wasn't gonna ask anything personal, so I don't understand how to do this.

Is anyone out there willing to help a brother out?

Check with your own health care provider, your local public health nurse, local nursing schools (those instructors do need to have a license), your own school nurse, check with family/friends to see if they know anyone, there are many opportunities out there. Just because one place turned you down doesn't mean others will. Yes, talking to someone you don't know can be awkward/intimidating, but then again it's practice for going through interviews to get a job and working with patients you've never met before. It also provides a networking opportunity- getting a job can be more who you know than what you know.

Kudos to you for not simply posting a list of the questions but asking how to find someone to complete the assignment as it was intended.

I am sure you know someone who knows a nurse. Use your Facebook contacts. Crowdsource. Network. The work you put into finding a nurse to talk to will be well worth it. Also, this is one more very valuable contact you have made when your nursing job hunt begins.

And luckily you have not waited until the last minute...Right? :)

I don't have that many friends and just recently (2 years ago) moved to the area. I can't think of anyone who knows a nurse, and I don't have a facebook.

I'm just worried because I also called my healthcare provider the other day and I got to leave a voice mail for the nurse manager but they never called me back.

Would you mind if I interview you? I'm planning on taking a CNA course and I'm sure i'll be able to meet more nurses then. But for now, I don't have the means to find someone. I have one week left to do this. I had planned to work on it the entire day, today.

I'm planning on taking a course to become a CNA. I'm sure I will get experience and a network once I start that job. But as of right now, I don't know of anyone. My healthcare provider was suppose to call me back (left a voicemail) but it never happened. I don't know how to do this.

As much as I'd like to help a student out, I would prefer to do so through offline channels and not associated with AN. That's the beauty of this website- it allows for anonymity. Unfortunately, allowing users to Skype (which I don't use) eliminates that anonymity. Sorry.
