Has anyone taken bio yet? If so how was it? I'm taking it in a 4 week summer course, starting in a week. I just looked at the syllabus and got scared. lol

If anyone has taken it please let me know how hard the class was, what was your grade, how you studied for tests, etc. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks!

Lol

Am taking it too...mine starts on may 28th.

I took A&P I and II last year and you read a LOT! It's not hard, but you need to memorize the anatomical structure of the human body. Seriously try to make yourself comprehend the chemistry section at the beginning because you need to understand the physiology in later chapters.

Just read, outline, and study PPTs! If you can do that you will do fine.

I made a B+. I looked up YouTube videos and found cool games and flashcards online (Quizlet). I used my textbook's website too! They had summaries of the chapter you could listen to when you were driving or laying down. If your professor gives you practice tests...DO THEM! More than likely you will see the questions again!

Mine starts May 20. I'm going to pick up my textbook & lab manual tomorrow so I can start reading ahead. I've ended up with my A's so far in my sciences & don't want to mess up because I feel like I have to cram everything in 4 weeks. I'm used to a 15 week semester, not 4!

Be careful because you cannot afford to spoil those fine looking A's you've gotten so far with a B or C. I purchased the textbook and 6 different study materials. I started with the first two chapters since my school will be covering 17 chapters in 8 weeks and class commences on the 20th of May, but guess what? I dropped the class immediately coz I felt I wasn't ready and I was scared of spoiling my nice looking A's.

You can do it. I have never taken college classes in summer so I don't want to risk taking A&P over summer and I have never withdrew from a class and don't want to go into what I am not ready for.

Good Luck.

Please study smarter and not harder. Follow your school pattern. Study the lecture notes, also understand and memorize the terms.

Remember it's not how fast you went with your Pre-Reqs neither does it matter when you took a particular class, but what matters is how well you came out at the end; thus, your final GPA counts a lot.

Thanks! I wanted to drop the class, but I'm glad I didn't. It doesn't seem too bad so far. We had our first test today & I made a 98. Now I'm worried about the lab more than the lecture. But I have 3 weeks left so we'll see.

Which Bio are you taking. A&P was hard at first. My advice is to MAKE yourself interested. The class is so much simpler when you care aboht what's being taught.

Bio 1230/1210 (Environmental Bio/Lab) -- It doesn't seem very hard as of now. I'm kinda sorta interested in what's being taught so I guess that's why.

Mine General Bio class started yesterday. I don't think it'll be too bad. We have 2 tests next week, first one on Monday and second one on Friday! Eek!! I hope yours goes well!
